Hey guys,

So just graduated rom My flagship mechanical mod to a IPV3 150W

I'm still using my Brass Tugboat with ⅛in holes and 24g dual coil 5 wrap sitting at .2

I was wondering if you guys have any tips for a newbie box mod owner

I've mostly gone to the clouds but want to play with flavor a bit more as well.

What wattages are you guys using for flavor. Also I assume juice plays a big factor as well, My goto is Halcoy Apachi (apricot and peach) I've must gone though at least 120ml of the stuff and going.

Thanks

to ecf tfraley. So glad that you are here. Just a great place to be. I am not familiar with your pv but it sounds like you are happy and that is what it is all about. I feel in love with dripping and ended up finding myself loving the reo grand. Continued success to you and have fun. Happy vaping.

I have a 100 watt and I dont even use the whole 100 lol I dont think Ive gone past 85-90 yet. Post some picks of your ipv wanna check it out. Also how you like it? I was thinking of getting one but went with the Sigelei instead. I run .3 sleeper coil in tobh on mine atm play ard in the 85-90 watt range. Usually I dont build low on the box do like a .9-1.1 coil but got bored so .3 it is today.

I'm liking it. Totally moving around the wattage trying to see what works... It is my first box mod.
I Normally run a .200 - .25 in my tugboat.

I have not experimented with higher builds. Do they still hit hard at 1.0 with a box? do they take time to heat up. I know this is the whole point of a box mod, but have not experimented myself yet.

I don't see myself ever using a box mod but people sure seem to like them. I was in a store yesterday and the clerk was trying to sell me a box mod that was giant, almost the size of a brick and bragging about the fifty watts he was using. I suppose he's just selling these to the cloud chasers because I can't figure out why someone would want a device like this.

The last few days I've been using a Vision Spinner II and a Pro Tank I can't imagine needing anything more. Anyway have fun with your new box and if it works for you then that's all that really matters.

I have an IPV3 on the way, I'm using a HexOhm and Tugboat right now. I also have a sigelei 100 watt but I'm not using it much now that I'm so in love with the Hex Ohm. The tugboat is all I like to vape on a daily basis now, I'll be getting an authentic V2 soon. In fact I just bought three tugboat clones because my one gets so much use, but the three I just got are cheap crap and have sharp edges over the place. However my first cloned Tugboat, a cigreen clone from vapingwalrus.com is a straight up beast.

My personal preference is around .5 ohms in the tugboat, and if I do a build where it's a little too hot I'll keep the ohms around the same but use a smaller wire (higher gauge number) because that allows me to have a quicker cooler vape without adjusting airflow.

My only other tip besides bumping up the ohms now that you have a box mod and can adjust power to your build, would be to get another RDA just like that one if you're happy with it. That will allow you to keep one for building and experimenting without tearing out your daily driver build if you aren't happy with something you try. It doesn't have to be the same material or anything, it's just nice to have two similar RDA's especially for testing and fine tuning in my opinion.

I guess if it's a first box mod you've been using a mech and have your juice picked out, but I found up-n-vape and their all VG juice vapes great in the tugboat. It's good high quality juice, very high end feeling and tasting, that's nice and thick and in my tugboat there's no leaking or gurgling or anything especially with max VG.

I also have a ipv3 shipped and can't wait to play with it.

You don't always have to use the max watts in a mod like that. The ipv3 is really set up for sub ohm builds to achieve the higher wattage it is capable of. Btw nothing wrong with your set up I have some Spinner2's here as well and they are still nice with a naughty or aerotank. Shame the clerk was trying to sell you something you did not want or feel you needed.

I have been eyeing the Hexohm myself but I have been hesitant as I am wanting to see how well the SX350 chip does with the gravity sensor, been considering the Gryphon Raptor 120w and also have been looking at the Atlas 50w but for the money I would rather go with the higher watt dual 18650 boxes.
