I would like to try a vamo but I figure ill get a I taste MVP before I get a tube mod
No, I want to live lol. I don't think I would ever double stack these batteries, kind of negates the protection in the unit to my understanding.

I think you can stack and be fine with the Vamo. Just not with a mech.
I'm in "shorty" mode on my VAMO with AW IMR 18350 batts. I swap 'em about every 6-8 hours or so. Depends on how much I vape.

According Phil, the protection doesn't work when stacked. He showed it on the technical portion of the review. If I remember correctly.

With the the double setup you can fry what your are using on top if you aren't careful. (If I understood his review at that point)

I joined the Ohio sub-forum. I would like to find a shop closer than C-bus. I ordered from SmokeTek though. Would be cool to eventually meet some others that vape sometime.
Yeah, I remember that review distinctly when I was getting my Vamo. I think that's the one where he said he blew up a 1.5 dual coil because he got up to 5 volts with it. Strangely enough, he doesn't have the charts for the 18350s on the website...

Same here. I heard the chrome and gunmetal chip easily. So im leaning towards getting a J-wrap.
There's an altsmoke store opening in eastgate sometime very soon. We are wanting to set up some kind of vape meet either there or at another place so we can socialize with our vape gear every so often.
The reports I have read about stacked batteries seemed to stress the importance of equally charged batteries and checking them with a voltmeter each time off the charger before installing them into a mod. If you screw up and install one depleted battery along with a fully charged battery, then press the fire button, the higher charged battery will rapid discharge into the depleted battery. Heat and pressure is the result and Li-ion batts can vent and spew. The electronics won't detect the things programmed into the logic, like shorts and voltage out of range and the meltdown will continue.
I'm not sure that a sacrificial spring would fail unless a dead short was experienced. That's what the spring is for. Anyone using dual batteries needs to check them with a voltmeter each time to make sure that they are equally charged.
