Hi Peggyann, I have Smoketips and haven't had any problems but there is a learning curve to using ecigs...the draw is not exactly the same as an analogue. Try taking a couple of quick primer puffs and then a long, slow pull on it to see if that makes a difference.

Also, once you get your post count up to 5 (just keep responding to this thread to do so), you can take a look at the other forums here to get more info. Note that the generic name for SmokeTip is KR808D-1 - you can find quite a bit of info if you search for it by the generic name!

Hope this helps!

Edited to add: I was going to send you a PM but until your post count is up to 5, you can't use that feature....if you want, once you're able, send me a PM and I'll be happy to try to work through it with you.

Welcome, Peggyann! I'm not familiar with the model you got, but it does sound like you started with one of the typical, probably overpriced, and less satisfying models out there--as so many (myself included) did. There are quite a few excellent choices out there. The eGo (also sold as the Riva), mentioned above, is a good one for battery life and good vapor delivery if you can get used to something in the size of a thin cigar. Probably the best advice I can give is for you to take a look at some really good beginner videos to acquaint you with the potentials.

Edited after seeing Cactusgirl's posting. Yes, the KR808D-1 is a good one indeed. (You're lucky.) But do check out the videos.

+5 for the Ego!

I use the standard ego 650mAH batteries with normal atomizers and it works just perfect! I vape all types of juice from 100% PG to 100% VG and in between, you should try both and a mixture as well (adjust to your needs. if you need to feel it more, raise the PG. If it's too harse Raise the VG.)

Liberty Flights is a GREAT place to purchase an Ego or Riva kit. I'd recommend some of my more favorable flavors so far

420! from Gourmet Vapor: No, it doesn't taste like pot. It's a mixture of 10% Rum, 10% Maple Syrup and 80% tobacco and it's very delicious. I've been vaping it all day. Or if you like fruity flavors

Apple from Liberty Flights: Taste exactly like Apple Juice, very tasty! Or if you like Menthol or minty flavors

Mint Chocolate Chip from Gourmet Vapor: Very tasty chocolate with a subtle but noticable mint backround. And if you don't like chocolate vape

Seriously Minty from Gourmet Vapor: Very powerful spearament//wintergreen flavor. I like it, though it is powerful. Or if you just want standard mint (but powerful!)

Smooth Menthol from Liberty Flights: It's a beast. This is the liquid that got me 100% off cigarettes. I'm 7 days free and I don't miss them at all!

Anyways, I am still new myself and trying new flavors. Taste is 100% subjective and I'm sure some more experienced users here can offer some great insight. Good luck, don't give up!

Hi Peggy, I'm on my third day with my smoketip. It took like a day to get used to it and now I love it. Haven't smoked a reL cig since I started ont the e- cig.
Eventhough I found out after ordering that you can get the smae type of cig (yes, smoketip is a KR-808D1) for less $ I don't mind. I guess it's beginners mistake for lack of knowledge.
I'm pretty happy with the inhaling feeling and the taste is not as bad as the first day.
Smoketip does have an amazing cust service as you read everywhere, but when I wnet back to order cartridges after making sure that I could do this e cig thing, they were out of best flavors on my strength. So I found many other suppliers o pre filled cartridges for this model of e cig.
I will eventually refill my carts but for now I want to take it slow. Refilling is cheaper and for what I hear tastier.
This is one of the places where I found all sorts of Accessories for smoketip including carts an batteries. Much cheaper than on smoketip dot com
and just as I was writing this I got my new carts from them in the mail, so I'll try them and come back to tell you all about it.

One advantage to having smoketip is that the battery has a lifetime 'no gimmicks, no questions asked' replacement warranty. With the exception of smartsmoke (which I think is a 510 model), I haven't seen any other vendors with this type of warranty on their batteries, so, although you might be able to find them cheaper elsewhere, once they die, you'll have to 'buy' the replacements. I would suggest that you get yourself a couple of extra batteries to have on hand so that if you ever do need to send one or two back for replacement, you'll have some backups to continue using!

Sorry I posted twice. I'm on my IPhone and it said the first didn't go through. I don't see how to delete one of the posts.

UPDATE
I'm trying the Menthol cart from myvaporstore and it's pretty nice. It fit my smoketip perfectly and a 5 pack is $7.25. Smoketip sells them (when they have them in stock) at $17 for a 10 pack so this is cheaper.
I'm trying the coffee flavor next. Just experimenting all the choices out there...

COFFEE
somehow this one doesn't give as much vapor even though it's the same strength. Flavor is good but I'm not getting almost any vapor at all! :(

I'm sorry, I don't think it's a poor ecig. I did a ton of research on the Smoke Tip here on this board and I got many excellent reviews from members here. That's why I ordered it for my Mom. This isn't one of those cheapo vendors that rips people off. They give excellent customer service and a lifetime warranty on their batteries.

Now, I do agree with you regarding lack of power. That's just how they're designed. My mom is a 60+ year smoker with COPD and quit smoking using the Smoke Tip. That alone gives it 5 stars in my book.

She quickly moved on, but they stood behind their starter kit warranty.

If you want an easy draw, great throat hit, lots of battery power, it's not the pv for you. But then again in that case I doubt if any KR808 is good for you.

I recommend this for anyone that is thinking about just trying an ecig. It's simple to use, many people really love their cartridges and it's an all around great company. CS Christy is excellent.

I am totally happy with it and now that I've tried the menthol flavor I think I've found my flavor. Never liked menthol cigarettes but it's perfect for the e cig.
I can't stop sucking on this thing. Can I get a nicotine overdose???

I doubt it.

Now that you know you like vaping, you can always try another kit if you need more power. You can get a Riva ego for $30 at liberty flights that offers a 6 month warranty on batteries and 45 days on attys.

It's a great little pv to keep as a backup if you outgrow it.

Sorry I'm still ignorant about the lingo. What does pv mean?
Thanks for the tips! :)
