Not urgent, but I've been getting that "itch"...so please can you provide some info to help me narrow things down, for when I DO scratch it?

1 - any timeline for another batch of woodies??

2 - Mini, Grand or Low Profile Grand?
I mean, obviously there's a tradeoff of size vs. battery life with the Mini v Grand choice but I'd appreciate
a) explanation of the Low Profile thing - what toppers do you want that for??
b) your input on the mini v. grand choice.... is a grand awkward in a shirt pocket? Does a mini burn a battery in a few hours?

Thanks!!

2 - Mini, Grand or Low Profile Grand? Minis are great performance in a small package but rock a 18490 and a 3ml bottle, Grands are bullet-proof and run a 18650 with a 6ml bottle but can only accommodate a topper that is aprox. 14mm diameter because of the catch cup, LP grands are the same as a regular grand except the catch cup has been milled down which makes them the most versitile because you can put any topper on it.

a) explanation of the Low Profile thing - what toppers do you want that for?? Anything larger than 14mm diameter.
b) your input on the mini v. grand choice.... is a grand awkward in a shirt pocket?I prefer the Grand due to battery life and bottle size. No, pictures make them look much larger than they actually are. A grand is roughly the size of a pack of smokes. Does a mini burn a battery in a few hours? Depends on the resistance of your coil.

Thanks!!

Thanks!

I guess I gotta go research bottom feed attys, and see if there's anything I'd end up "needing" (almost bought a top-feed cyclone today - I like the way they look). Cuz a Cyclone for instance, I'd need the Low Profile, right? And there's no low profile on a mini?

On the other hand, there's a low profile RM2, but not in brass?

Do I have all of that right?

I believe the cyclone fits a regular grand but the Cyclops with AFC does not.
The RM2 preforms very well so I haven't felt the need to venture out and buy a different rda.

No, minis don't have a LP version.

I'm sure Rob would make you a brass LP RM2 if you asked him, or you could just sand/polish it yourself. Just to clarify, the Lp rm2 only works on a Lp grand.

I got a Grand in May 2011, then a Mini in June 2011, then I sold my Mini and bought another Grand in August 2012. I barely used the Mini - it was great, but once you are used to holding a grand, it feels like it is part of you.

I can't give any input on the low profile Grand or RM2. I would think that if you plan to experiment with other types of RBAs, then you would want a low profile.

As far as a shirt pocket, my anodized red one weighs 7 oz. with battery, full of juice, and an RM2 with a stainless steel drip tip. It would fit well, but its got some weight to it and it would be somewhat slippery so if you were bending over a lot, it'd fall out.

If you end up in love with a REO like most of us here, then a regular Grand and an RM2 is all you need while you watch for the Woodvil sales.

If you decide Grand instead of mini then think about what you'll run on top. The regular Reo was designed back when all we had was regular attys and cartos, so the drip well was designed with those in mind. If you never plan to use an atty or carto then go with the LP since it gives you more choices in RBA/RDA without restrictions.

If you want a brass RM2 LP version a PM to Rob will make that happen. or you can sand it down yourself.

I started with regular Grands and then gave one away sold one and now only run LP Grands or Woodvils.

Rob has said he's going to design a mechanical Woodvil, So I expect that will be the next wood model that goes on sale. That will take a while for R&D and production. I hope he can get it done in 2014.
