what's up everyone. i just started the vaping experience and im loving it so far. don't think ill touch a cigarette anymore. i bought a totally wicked tornado ego C Twist it was the only really decent one they have had here in Pakistan and so far it seems great. i have a couple of questions :

1) where can i get replacement cartridges, and atomisers for this device? like how do you know which cartridges/ tanks are compatible with the vaporiser?
2) im about to buy my first batch of ejuice online ( the flavours that came with the vape are decent but not great) and was wondering what would be the best vendor to buy from in terms of quality and variety? or even mostly quality. im gonna buy around 12 bottles.
3) one last question...typically how long before you notice ur breathing getting better? and is there anything to be worried about when it comes to the effect of vaping on the lungs?

You guys know your .... any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since you have an eGo, that's what to look for. It's a standard and very, very widely supported. Just about anything "eGo" should work. That's one of the advantages of using an eGo. It's become a major, widely used standard.

For juices, one place I deal with I know is a good company is Mount Baker (mtbakervapor.com). But that is a US company. I'm not familiar with the whole international shipping thing. :) Others may know of places closer to you.

Everybody is different but I started noticing improvement in my breathing almost immediately. Like in the first couple of weeks. Your lungs start to improve pretty much the day you stop smoking. But different things take differing amounts of time. I know my sleep began to improve noticeably in the first month.

And I don't think vaping can have much ill effect on the lungs. I suppose years of vaping may have some effect or other that we won't discover until years from now but we KNOW how bad tobacco smoke is for the lungs eh?

Also, vaping, you don't usually inhale deeply. With smoking, you get the nicotine via the smoke in your lungs. In vaping, it's absorbed mostly in the mouth and nasal passages. So while you can inhale into the lungs in vaping, it's not really necessary. Vaping is more, oh, like a pipe where you "puff".

But the components in vape liquids other than the nicotine are commonly used, generally recognized as safe things. They're in tons and tons of products. Food products included. And the flavorings? Same as used for making candies and desserts. We give the stuff to children. They're pretty safe products...

thats alot of information mate thank you! looks like i picked a good vapor to start with.

and ive checked out alot of suppliers for e juices and 90% of them ship here so hopefully that wont be an issue. if you had to pick one supplier out of the following who would you go for :
Alice in Vapeland
Five pawns
Mt baker
Virgin Vapor
Crystal Canyon
Nicoticket
the plume room
the vapor chef

thats really good to hear about the breathing being a guy who tries to exercise and run regularly going for a run on the treadmill and then having a smoke afterwards was a really stupid thing to do...but i couldnt kick the habit. has there been any research on any known carcinogens in the e juice? not like its gonna stop me this stuff tastes too good!

and i like feelin the vapor on the back of my throat i hope it isnt effecting my lungs.

Welcome! It's hard to suggest flavors not knowing what you like. Have you visited this section on the forum?

There are LOTS of reviews there of different vapors, supplies and suppliers.

Congrats and once again, WELCOME!

cheers for the welcome :)

if you had to pick a single vendor/supplier who always delivers who would you go for?

Your list above has all great vendors - I do not think you will go wrong picking from any of them!

As far as health effects- there are a lot of unknowns, but so far it seems that it is most definitely a substantial amount of harm reduction as opposed to smoking. Your lungs will take time to fully heal, most start noticing a difference almost immediately- (within a few days), things like increased lung capacity and no more smokers cough. Over the first year you may have different moments of better and worse as your body goes through stages of healing. This is related to QUITTING smoking and not a side effect of vaping (usually :) )

yeah my sense of smells seem to be improving and being a former asthmatic i can take deeper breaths now but i think i still have to give it time to clear the dirt out of my lungs.

one last question, i have the simple atomizer and the cartridge which has the drip tip in it as an extension ( il attach a picture of it too).
is there any significant loss of flavour by doing it this way?

why I can't post new threads is probably related to this *lol* and I am NOT selling this rig up and I'll be vague about where I get them, a "popular online auction place" the eGo T's if you can still get them last me all day and then some (900mah) if not an 1100 or more will do you fine (jury's still out on the 2200mah, honestly my vision spinners work better) and a modified Kanger Protank 2 w/air control valve and it's all delivered for less than $30.

Just find what's best for you, try out folk's rig ups at the vape stores (I keep extra little mouth piece covers for that) like TamiP there with that adorable long haired Chi ? up there loves her Vivi Nova 5 I can't stand mine *lol* it's going to a friend/family or TamiP *lol* if she wants it for free.

good luck and same here I was having asthma secondary to "the flu" and not a wheeze in over a month...good job!! :)

Hey thanks! I'd love it. The "adorable" brat in the pic is a Papillon. She's very often mistaken for a long-haired chi (kudos to anyone that can spell chiuahaha??? without looking it up, lol). Love that little nut case, she's my constant companion.

It's true though, if you have someplace local to try stuff, or friends who vape that you can check out their gear that's the best way. For most of us, it's a matter of hit or miss and try everything until you find the things that "stick". Luckily, most of the tanks/carts/clearos/atomizers etc for the ego are not really expensive, so testing a few different things to find what you really love won't break you too hard. Certainly is cheaper than buying a carton of cigarettes every week. :)

Well, nobody can promise you it's "perfectly safe". But it's surely a lot safer. The contents of the liquids are pretty innocuous things. Like PG which is used as a "base" for the nicotine and flavors. It's in asthma inhalers. It's used in hospitals to deliver medications to the lungs (by vapor more or less). It's used in injectable medications! Yeah, they inject the stuff into you in hospitals. It's pretty safe. :)

One of the "quit smoking" products out there made by pharmaceutical companies? A nicotine "mist"? It's got PG in it.

Vaping is too new for long term studies to exist yet. But you already know how bad smoking is for your lungs. Vaping may not be perfect but it's better. If you exercise, you'll notice improvements fairly quickly.

So far, nobody's found much of anything in vapor to be all that worried about. Nicotine--by itself--isn't a carcinogen. PG and VG (the base liquids in e-juices) are commonly used, generally safe products found in food, medicines... they're all over the place. The flavorings are baking supplies. If you want to make candies, you order from the same places I do (I mix up my own juices, saves a lot of money).

I always say if there is a long term effect to vaping, now I might live long enough to find out. The way I was going? Not so much.

(Heavy smoker for 30 years? Oof.)

So, no, nobody's found carcinogens in any significant amount. Maybe "trace" amounts in cheap, gas station e-cigs. Even those, the levels found have been so low, I'd worry more about what's coming out all those car tailpipes. Seriously, do any of the people who run around yelling about e-cigs ever look at what's coming out their car exhaust?

Yeah, in a perfect world, none of us would use nicotine at all. But we ain't in a perfect world. If you can quit nicotine entirely, great. But if you could, you probably wouldn't be here talking about vaping eh? :)

Worry about one thing at a time. Smoking is deadly. Quit that. Later, you may also quit vaping. Or cut the nicotine out entirely. People do. But if the choice is smoke or vape, vaping is less harmful certainly.

Of the vendors you list, if I had to pick only one, it's Mount Baker: https://www.mtbakervapor.com

They have very good customer service. They get your order out the door quick and their products are reliable. There are high quality, "boutique" juices out there that people rave about but Mount Baker is a solid, reliable bunch. If I order a flavor from them, I know it's going to be that flavor. It's not going to vary wildly in taste or quality.

I order a lot from them. I found as I got further along, I had flavors I vape a lot of. My "mainstays" I guess? MBV (Mount Baker Vapor) is a place I know I can put together a quick order for a big batch of my regular stuff and go on about my business. They get it done and on its way fast and it's consistently what I expect it to be.

Yah, eGo's are good starters. Easy to use, easy to maintain, easy to find parts and pieces for. I moved up to an "advanced" widget this year but I spent the bulk of my vaping time on eGo's. It was my eGo's I was able to quit smoking completely with.

i was never the heaviest of smokers but i couldnt kick my 5-10 smokes a day even after giving it my all. the problem is theyres so many flavours and mixes out there that i feel like even if i kicked my nicotine craving id still want to order the no nicotine juices for the taste! is there a significant reason i shouldnt go down that route?

im gonna order around 10 clearomisers with the juices so hopefully that will last me a while.

Cost.

If you want to save on eliquids, do a bit of DIY do-it-yourself.
The bulk of eliquid is glycerin (VG) and propylene glycol (PG)
You can make you own base liquid with VG and PG, and add just a little of the eliquid that you buy, and save money that way.

Or if you can afford it look for the fancy stuff like bobas bounty and suicide bunny.

eliquid costs are going to drop by anywhere from half to 10x over the next few years as more people make the transition
