Hello all.

I am a newbie to rebuildables and ohm issues. Just bought a SDV 2 and tried at first with dual coil sub ohm 0.5 and found that the heat capacity was way to high to fire them as I would like. Is there a way round this on a variable? I am currently using a 1.8 single coil which is working much better.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Welcome to ECF, charlie...

I'd imagine no one has responded to your inquiry because you've misstated the APV... do you mean an innokin iTaste SVD2.0?

Although the SVD2.0 is rated at 6 amps/20 watts output... I'd be inclined to believe that 0.5Ω (which is also, coincidently the "Short Circuit/Atomizer Protection" value) is pushing it a bit.

Chances are, you'd have fair performance a few tenths of an ohm above the lower limit, say... 0.8Ω or so.

Cheers

Thanks stateofflux

You are right. I did mean the itaste sdv 2. I tried several sub ohms dual coil builds and was getting heat capacity readings that were way to high. Currently I am using a single coil at which is working really well using 28 awg 14 wraps. I built it for 1.8 ohms but it ended up reading 2.8. I think maybe I made a mistake with the diameter. I want to try a dual coil build with 32awg with a target ohms of 1.52 which is the mod sweet spot. Any idea how to increase surface area without increasing heat capacity?

Have a good day.
