hi all,
i started out with green smoke witch did make me stop analogs but you all know the prices are extreme.
just received my VE riva 1100 deluxe kit and a vivi nova 2.5 with long wicks (1.8ohm, 2.4ohm, 2.8ohm)
with gold and silver juice all from "vape escape" site
and a malboro juice from freedomvape site used the -10% discount code > allabout with both sits

everything is very easy to use, but now to the point.
^^^^^^^^^^

i started one battery with the Vision Ego Clearomiser that came with it and filled it with the gold and silver juice ( 24mg, 70 PG, 30 VG )
>very nice throat hit , good amount of vapor , after taste isn't really to my liking.

on the other battery i used the vivi nova 2.5 long wicks with the one wick that was already on it > 1.8 ohm
and used the malboro juice (VG 60 , PG 40 , 22-28mg )>> only VG/PG mix there is
>very low throat hit, extreme amount of vapor , barely notice anything, no taste , no hit, just bad I would say.

so, first of I let both of them stand for a minute before I started so the wicks could do there job. 2 minutes or so.

1: is my bad experience with the one with the vivi nova on it have anything to do with the wick of 1.8ohm?
2: what would change with the other wicks with a higher amount of "ohm"
3: i assume i should stick with juices that have a high PG %, or is this to early to tell?
4: the gold and silver juice after taste isn't to my liking , know any without an after taste? (but still a very nice throat hit)
5: could my bad experience with my first try on the vivi nova be because of some noob mistake?
6: any other relevant comments remarks or suggestions are welcome.

friendly regards ,

The 1.8 ohms would make the vapor hotter which could burn some juices. You didn't mention a burned flavor though, so that most likely wasn't the problem. Higher ohms would make the vapor a little cooler and some flavors taste different depending on ohms, but if you really didn't like it, I'm going to guess that different temperatures aren't going to change much.

Keep in mind that some liquids need time to steep to bring out the best flavor, with tobacco, coffee, and chocolate flavors needing it the most. You can look up some steeping techniques, but I usually just let them sit in the cupboard for a week or so. Steeping can help reduce any "chemical" taste you might have experienced (the aftertaste might be attributed to this).

PG percentage is difficult to gauge as it's fairly subjective. I personally can't handle PG more than 50% and prefer it around 30%. You would need to experiment a little to figure out your preferences, but in general, PG brings out more flavor (and less vapor), while VG can "mute" the flavor a little bit (and produces more vapor). In my experience, however, PG is far too harsh and dries out my throat, which is why I prefer VG. I haven't noticed a difference in flavor, personally. Keep in mind that liquids with higher VG percentages can be quite a bit thicker which can cause some problems with your setup (wicks a little slower, can "gunk" up the atomizer, etc). Even so, I still prefer 70% VG.

I doubt the flavor on the Vivi Nova had anything to do with how you filled it. You probably just don't like that particular liquid or it may need to steep.

I would suggest trying out many different samples in bottle sizes that range from 3ml to 10ml. Tobacco flavors may not be your thing. I used to smoke menthols and when I started vaping I tried to find a good menthol flavor. This ended up being a mistake. I never found one. Instead, I found some dessert type flavors that I loved like strawberry lemonade, sugar cookie, banana cream, etc. After my taste buds started to heal from smoking, the sweet flavors became too sweet and I gravitated to a vanilla mint liquid that is mildy minty without being mouth-numbing.

Basically, try a lot of different flavors. There's hundreds out there and you're bound to find something you love.

ETA - If you like throat hit, you might like higher PG percentages. I forgot to mention that it's one of the perks of PG. VG also adds a little "sweetness" as it's naturally sweet.
