Just started vaping properly

Hello all,

I would just like to say it's been 8 days 12 hours and 20 minutes since I've had an analogue cigarette, I've also avoided 102 cigarettes (as of typing).

I'm trying my very best to stay strong and to avoid smoking all together, My question is, can it take a while for the body to actually get used to the new method of nicotine intake? If so how long on average will it take and will my craving to have an actual analogue eventually die off?

Many Thanks

Giuseppe

yes, unlike cigarettes the nicotine uptake is much slower with vaping as the molecules are huge by comparison. When I started in july of this year it took 3 weeks for me to stop craving analogs (regular cigarettes). With vaping you have to inhale differently..
Slow steady long drags.. with the cheeks first, into the mouth THEN inhale into the lungs (if you want to inhale), hold a few seconds then exhale thru the nose is what works best for me. Also depending on how much you smoked you MAY want to up your nicotine level in the vape. to 24mg or even higher for a few weeks..
Hang in there after a while of only vaping (like 2 weeks) I cant stand the taste or smell of my old American Spirit cigarettes and cant believe how long the smell stuck to me..

Based on what I've read here and my discussions with other vapers, people have a lot of different experiences with this. If the cravings become really difficult, look around the forums and check for the advice of more experienced vapers. Lots of helpful folk here!

I do know from my previous cold-turkey quits that after a couple of weeks without a cigarette I personally find the flavor abhorrent. I mean truly disgusting. When I'm smoking regularly, I enjoy the taste. If I quit for a while, the flavor of the first several cigs is horrible.

I'm counting on this to help me out as I continue with vaping. Vaping tastes good. If, after a couple of weeks without a cig, I try a cigarette, the cig will taste nasty. Positive reinforcement for vaping, negative reinforcement for smoking.

It took me two full weeks to "leave the pack at home" then another week or so before the urge to go smoke a "stinky" subsided enough...besides...the beautiful part...when the urge hit me...I would simply reach over and take a puff or two off my personal vape and the urge just went away in a cloud ;)

Good luck and Vape On!!!

Never fight with smoking. Smoke one when you think you need one. Believe me it will come to you bad. It doesnt matter. You have to be enjoying the adventure dont torture yourself as in patchs or gums. But first increase the nic level a bit and find an adorable liquid (This unforytunately vary according to personal taste and nothing to do with the brand you are smoking) We quitters never crave for one smoke because we get enough nic with a lovely juice too involved what is best other than my equipment :)P) to smoke. Besides smoking is bad the stinking smell bad taste avoid us to smoke.

Hi

You have to bear in mind here you have two things going on at the same time: quitting smoking and starting vaping. While vaping can and does get nicotine into your system, your body has to get used to not taking in all that other crap it used to get from smoking. That's the quit smoking withdrawal part. In other words, this isn't just about the nicotine.

As far as cravings go... yeah, it's been said already - everyone is different about how hard this is. One of the things you need to figure out is what is your right nicotine level or levels to deal with cravings. It's a very individual matter. You can take two people with the same 2 PAD smoking profile and at 24 mg nic one person will get bowled over and can barely tolerate 12 mg's. While the other person is barely holding it together with 24 mg and needs something even higher. If cravings really seem to be a problem you may want to pick up the next higher nic level and see if that works better for you. One of the best things about quitting and switching to e-cigs is the flexibility. Every person gets to customize the nic level to their own needs.

It does get better. Cravings will go from multiple times a day, to daily, every other day, every few days, weekly, a couple times a month etc. as you go along. The frequency and intensity of the cravings falls apart over time.

One of the harder things for new vapers to figure out is you have to vape enough. Vaping is not smoking. You don't get an instant rush or buzz from vaping as you do from a cigarette. And a PV doesn't do a thing for you unless you pick it up and push a button every time. There is no smoldering cigarette sitting there, reminding you to finish it. It's just not the same thing so you actually have to work at vaping enough when you are new to it until it becomes second nature.

All I can tell you is no matter how "rough" those first couple weeks might have been for me, this time it was a lot easier to quit than any other time around. And over two years later I'm still quit. This actually can work. Best wishes sorting it all out.

hang in there brother you can do it , i think most of our cravings believe it or not come from the other poisons and not just the nicotine , but everybody is different , i was a 35yr smoker 1 1/2 pks and for me i vaped 48mg camel ejuice from a vendor that no longer exist and quit from day 1 but i think i got very lucky to find that vendor im telling ya it tasted exactly like camel cigs so i think that had alot to do with it , maybe try a few more vendors/ flavs to get you thru were pulling for ya

Keep at it mate. Im on my fourth week of vaping( fourth attempt to make the full switch). Left my pack of analogs at home tonight and had no urge to turn around or pick up another from a gas station. Find a juice you love and a PV that really does the trick ( i switched to a mod from and EGO setup this time) i am now to the point where an analog tastes nasty to me. I can actually taste the ammonia in them. Its crazy.
