Hello @ian cox and welcome to the forum. I recommend the iStick 30 or 40 watt mod (battery) with the Aspire Nautilus Mini tank for new vapers. They are both user friendly and very nice quality. The Nautilus is a mouth to lung tank, very similar to how one smokes a cig.

As to the juice (not oils, oils are bad for vapes) you might try vaping unflavored. It's just the vg and pg base with nicotine. There are many who claim this is as close to a real cig as you can get, and I know a large number of vapers who vape the unflavored.

Once you figure out your nicotine level here is an inexpensive place to buy unflavored :1mg-24mg E-Liquid Nicotine - Unflavored Nicotine Bases - E-Liquid

I remember wanting that taste as well. The closest I've found, oddly enough, is unflavored ejuice at about 70%PG/30%VG. Works at 50/50, too. It reminds me of a Marlborough Light.

I still vape it, but have pretty much settled on naturally extracted tobaco (NET) juices. They don't taste like a cigarette, though. Some of them taste the way my Dad's pipe smelled. I tried, but couldn't smoke the pipe tobaccos, but I sure like these flavors. Mostly from Heather's Heavenly Vapes.

I tried some candies/cakes/bakery stuff, but couldn't stick to them very long. I do drip some strong Peppermint Blast now and again to give the old taste buds a kick. It prevents vapor tongue (a point when it seems all your juices have lost their flavors).

If you're in a position to buy devices, I'd second the iStick 30w and nautilus mini. I will also strongly recommend unflavored. I vape unflavored everyday now. My father does too, he says it's the closest thing to a Marlboro Light and I agree. Normal tobacco flavored e-juices are disgusting.

As far as unflavored, I buy the supplies and mix it myself. I can get enough for a 1000+ ml for around $50.
Mt. Baker Vapor has it Unflavored E Juice - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes BUT I have never bought it pre-mixed so I can't vouch for it.
