Hello everyone,
I hope someone here can helm me make sure I got the DIY thing figured out. Just want to make sure before I place an order.
So for 120ml of ejuice (80%PG. 20%VG, and 12mg strenght) i think I will need: 30ml of nic juice (100%PG with 48mg nic), 42ml of PG, 24 ml of VG, and 24ml of flavor (two flavors 12 ml each).
Am I right so far?

As I don't have either the tools or materials, I thought of buying this kit:
The DIY Flavor Artisan's Master Kit - One Stop DIY Shop Store

it includes: 60ml of Nic juice (100%PG, 48mg), 120ml PG and 48ml Flavors. To this I guess I will have to add 120ml of VG (not included in kit).

So, did I get it right, or did I completely misunderstood the whole thing? As I am spending 45$ on this I would like to make sure I am not missing anything important.

Would have posted this in the right sub-forum but hopefully someone will see it here..

I'd recommend that you download the Ejuice me up calculator

according to the calculator to make 120ml of 12mg 80/20 using 48mg base you would need 30ml of 48mg, 66ml PG, 24ml VG

Personally, I wouldn't buy that kit. You're going to need way more bottles for test mixes, a lot more syringes (1ml, 3ml, 10ml sizes), large container to mix your base, larger bottles to store your base mix, etc.

You should post at least 4 more times (Edit: nevermind, you went from 1-6 posts pretty quick :) ) and then you can access the DIY subsection and get some more opinions.

At first I couldn't figure out how you got different numbers. Then I realized I forgot to mention the flavors are 100%PG! 66ml(what you wrote)-24ml(flavor)=42ml!
As someone who like math stuff, and took Highschool chemistry for two years (like 15 years ago, but still) I find myself actually enjoying this process so far.

Walmart has 90ml (3oz) plastic bottles (in the shampoo/toothpaste area) empty for travel (about a buck or so) that you can mix smaller batches of premix PG/VG and add your nic juice to so that all you have to do is add flavoring and the premix (base) liquid to.

use 10% flavoring values to start with in 5ml batches and keep a log of what you did/added Increase as needed.

Ex: the base is premixed 50/50 w12% nic.

Hazelnut (Capella)
Base 50/50 PG/VG 12% nic.
Flavor 10%
Batch size 5ml

Base - 4.5ml / 90%
Flavor - .5ml / 10%
Notes:

as a general rule what I do is smell the flavoring and taste it, dip a toothpick in the bottle. if the flavor / smell is strong I start w/10% if its weak I will start w/15%.

5ml is not much if you have to trash it and start over.

different flavor mfg's can vary widely on their flavors for ex. capellas hazelnut tastes nothing like that from flavor art. you may have to try different vendors to find your flavor.

also, if you warm your VG in the micro on a low setting (I use 25 seconds on power level 2) it will pour much easier
Best of luck

I've been searching around for "starter" essentials also. My son turned me on to cheaper alternatives than buying a starter kit. I purchased quart bottles of USP VG and PG from Amazon for around $20.00 total. Then I got my flavors, nicotine - 250 ml (100mg PG base), flavors and mixing beaker, syringe, pipettes, and 14 gauge needle from Wizard Labs - cost $35.00 Last but not least got my "Cool Hit" - 30ml bottle and "Sweetener" - 15ml bottle plus bottles to hold the finished product and special blunt tip needle tops for dispensing from ECBlends for around $15.00. $70.00 sounds like a lot at one shot, but I will have enough supplies to make ejuice for a very long time. Just some food for thought, you are absolutely free to do what is comfortable for you.
