About to make 1st purchase at DYI. Couple of questions.

Was thinking of getting the Artisan Master Kit ( The DIY Flavor Artisan's Master Kit - One Stop DIY Shop Store )
Im confused on two things however:
1) e-liquid blend; Which one to get 100% PG, 50/50, or 100% VG?
2) Dilution Base Liquid; PG or VG?

Not sure what does what. Please share what combination you would get and why.
Feel free to suggest flavors to get.
Any other opinions or suggestion would be welcome.

Some depends on your equipment, some depends on preference.....pg typically gives a better th and allows more flavor....vg is a tad sweet and gives more vapor and mutes flavor.....I always DIY'd around 80pg/20vg, but I just got some mixed at 40pg/60vg and REALLY like it! I tend to order my nic base at all pg and go from there as vg is easily attainable at Wal-mart. It really all depends upon preference. I think next time, I will go with a 50/50 just cause I do like this 40/60 mix (dripping)....

You will get some other answers come in here too, and they may be able to explain a bit better than I ....I hear it in my head and makes perfect sense...lol...that is till I go back an hour later and re-read what I stated....hope you get the gist of what I'm sayin here.....

You don't say what ratio or the nic level you use and that would help. I go from 100/0 to 70/30 PG/VG at 24mg, so I buy PG based nic liquid for obvious reasons. If you are on the other end of the spectrum, such as 30/70, you'd want to go with a VG base. If you're right in the middle at 50/50, then I guess it wouldn't matter. You should both PG and VG dilution base because you'll need them anyway unless you're mixing 100/0 or 0/100. Again, this depends on the ratio you're mixing and the nic level as to how much you should buy of either.

I saw that you are using a tank system. I think 70/30 is what the tanks were designed for, and that's what I run through mine. Seems to work well. When I'm using something other then my tank though I go all the way up to 100vg just for fun though. Gotta love big ol clouds at times

Buy the 100% PG, and dilute it down with VG. Problem with her kits is that the nicotine is too weak to be able to dilute it down if you wanting to do say 50/50 @36mg nic. Thats the limitation of the base nic you pic. You wont be able to try a full range of PG to VG ratios AND keep your nic strength high. Now if you already vape 16 and below, this won't be a problem.

Sorry guys, Im completely new to this.
Im using the 16mg Tobacco that came with my Inferno and its too weak. Id like to go up to 24mg+ perhaps. All these ratios look foreign to me. Is there maybe a different website I should buy from so I can get a higher nic. level? Whatever you guys suggest I'll probably do. Im running out of this weak crap that Volcano gave me and I dont wanna go back to analogs.

I buy my nicotine base from either Gourmet Vapor, since they get it from Box Elder Chemical or I just go straight to the source. I'm seriously thinking about making a purchase from BE because they're having a really nice sale! I get all of my other supplies from OSDIYS.

I got the measuring stuff and flavors at OSDIYS but I got my nic juice at myfreedomsmokes.com (nice options available with the PG/VG ratio's of the nic juice). Try wantching MistressNomads video on DIY juice making. It might answer a few questions for you.



Basically if you want 24mg you can get 24mg juice from myfreedomsmokes. if you want your juice to to be 25% PG & 75% VG (or visa versa) you can get that too and will just need to add flavoring (if you want flavored), you wouldn't have to dilute that with more PG or VG. If you get say, 60mg unflavored juice but only want the final product to be 24mg you'll have to dilute with more PG or VG (there are numerous calculators available to help with that). It's actually quite easy.

Well, as much as I LOVE Volcano....I am not very fond of their juice....the watermelon is okay and the blue water punch(I think is what it is called), but the others that I have tried are kinda weak on flav....I actually ended up really diluting my vanilla with DIY flavor to get any hint of vanilla flavoring at all.....now it is my just before bed vape......If you want to try different places, there is a thread about suppliers that offer samples....3ml so you can try different stuff and not be stuck with a large qty of something you don't like.....
