I am getting ready to take the plung and start vaping. This site is GREAT it has made me want to quit after reading all the success stories here. I just ordered the ego-t and cant wait to get it. I do have a few questions thou.My goal is to start strong and work my way down till I dont need the nicotine. Theres ALOT of new lingo to learn here so forgive me if I say something wrong. My goal is to start vaping this weekend would like to order anything else I might need today or tommorow so it gets here in time. Thanks for any help.

1. I am a menthol smoker and was wondering what would be a good juice to try to start out with going to do the nicotine at 24mg and work my way down?

2. I am alittle confused about the juices they all dont have nicotine am I correct? This confuses me alittle bit. I have looked around the different places but am still kinda confused. Wheres a good place to buy juices?

3.How long does a bottle of 15ml usually last? I know it depends on how often u vap but on a average. I smoke about 1 pack a day....

4. I bought the ego-t starter kit is there anything else I should get to begin besides juices?

5. Final question for now. Are the samples worth buying?

Hi! Welcome to vaping!

Stop by the ECF Library and the "stickies" and read up, because your answers are pretty much all there...I'll toss a few thoughts in, though much less thoroughly than the Library has.

Try starting at 24 mg, but my thoughts are that with the menthol, you'll do fine with 18 mg as a starter just as well (menthol gives you a bit more TH).

Some juices are 0 nic to accommodate state/provincial law. People add their unflavored nic juice to it. Some people prefer to vape 0 nic, also.

I was a pack a day smoker too, and am vaping about 3 to 4 mls of 18 mg per day...YMMV

Get a couple extra atomizers (may as well get a new LR tank atty to see what you think of it), and maybe an extra battery or two.

Yes, samples are worth buying, since you'll waste less juice overall if you find you don't like a flavor.

Congrats on a great decision!

Average juice consumption is around 3 ml a day so a 15ml bottle should last around 5 days assuming you're average. When buying juice all you have to do is select the nic level you want. You can get 0 nic but I'd start with some 18mg and 24mg in flavors you think you'll like. Samples are a great way to get a bunch of flavors and strengths without buying big bottles of flavors you might not like.

If you didn't know, anything that's dotted-underlined like PV, ECF, atty etc can be moused over to tell you what it means.

Sample packs are a great way to try different juices so you don't get stuck with a lot of juice you don't like.

I'm still new at this but I think BlueMistVaping has great juice at great prices, with several options for sample packs. They, like many places, let you choose the nic level of your juice and offer it in either 80% PG /20% VG or 100%VG. Just be aware the default option is 0mg nic and remember to change it you that's what you want.

Congratulations for getting started. I am also new to this forum, as well as all forums. I just stopped smoking analogs On Feb 11,2011 and I am loving every minute of it. My wife also quit at the same time, although she had a little harder time off it. Every one looks for something a little different from it. I wanted to try every flavor available just to keep the excitment up, my wife wanted something to taste just like her marl lites. We ordered sampler packs to start. Now that we both have 3 weeks analog free, I can give this advice. Have extra batteries, have a good selection of flavors dont stick to your normal analog flavor. At first you will look for just a simple replacement for your regular smoke, if like my wife and I, you might need something to get you over the hump of being analog free. We found a couple that worked. Mango, peach cobler, and 555. These were either from a sample pack I purchased or a freebie I received with my order. Either way it was a life savor. Be excited, dont limit your options, understand this is not going to be exactly like your analogs in taste or feel. But it is the next best thing, and even better. I got my starter kit from V4L as well as my new Juices, I have also got juice from zeecigs, I am very happy with both company's and recomend both. Good luck to you, and happy VAPEING

I am new also ...waiting for my first order of flavors. I have the SmokeStik( it's a 4081) w/regular and menthol cartos. So far I am liking it alot and on day 1 with no analogs and only 2 yesterday. I am having trouble with one of my batteries holding a charge though. Not sure what to do about that. I guess I have to contact SmokeStik...

Good decision to give up the analogs and switch to Vaping - it's healthier, cheaper and as one person has in their signature graphic, "smoking is a habit, vaping is a hobby". Just beware - it's easy to become a gearhead and spend a lot of money on equipment and e-liquid. This is fun, and I still get the enjoyment/satisfaction I got from smoking but can feel good about doing it!

As for the best equipment/flavors/suppliers, I'm still a n00b so I'll defer to the more experienced here. I started with a kit bought online, loved it but got tired of having defective batteries replaced so I spent the money on a battery mod that will be MUCH cheaper in the long run.

Have fun and read lots here - there is a WEALTH of info on this site, and the people are really helpful and nice.

Welcome to ECF and congratulations on the desire to quit smoking. After 40+ years of smoking Kool's, I quit on vape day 2.
Some good menthol was already posted, and I also really like PureCig Menthol from FSUSA.

Welcome to ecf!! Check out Halo's menthol; they are very good. I would suggest 18 & 24 mg. 24 has always been way too much for me; I used 18 for awhile before I moves to 12. But 24 could help you get over any intense urgings. At at some point, you might want to get some more batteries with an additional charger just in case some mechanics fail(I dropped my charger in the dog water bowl!!).

Best wishes!

It's always good to have a spare battery. If you only have 2 and one bites the dust, what do you vape while your only battery charges?

I just noticed that you're in Cuyahoga Falls. I assume that's Ohio. I'm over in Kent. Did you know there's Altsmoke down in New Philadelphia? I've been down there a couple of times. If you go to their store they can answer all your questions and give you a demo of their stuff. They carry 510's, eGo's, and some mods, as well as juice and miscellaneous stuff.

I'm a KSU student also, I'm in a masters program and should graduate in December. If you're interested in checking out some vaping gear or trying some different juices let me know. You can see in my sig line what I'm using.

Thanks I might take you up on that when I get everything together.
