for pointing the way to bringing my sanity back. The wife and i quit with pv's and everything was hunky dory for about a month.the wife started having random crying spells and general anxiety and i got more and more depressed and was verging on certifiable.
at any rate - i tried some american snus as a last resort before going to the shrink or back to smoking.3 days in and the depression started to lift and things just gradually got better.the wife followed suit,we ordered some real stuff from sweden and we've both been smoke free and not (completely) crazy for months now :2cool:.
if it hadn't been for you guys championing snus as the great equalizer i would not have known about it and there's no telling where we'd be now.
i'm off to post in the whats in your lip thread! thanks again!!!

I think snus tastes like crap. I use it because it stopped me from going crazy when I was just using a PV. It works for me in conjunction with vaping to be (as Twisted Victor once said in a thread) "comfortable in my own skin." The Swedish snus comes in different strengths and pouch sizes.

Thanks BCB...I guess I'll start doing a bit of research on these...am feeling a bit skin crawly now that I'm down to 6mgs.

Congrats Guttermouth!

I have to say, after a year of vaping, it took nothing to go right back to smoking. Ecigs are definitely missing something crucial. Tack on to that the pain in the ... factor and its easy to give up and return to smoking. I've been snusing for a few weeks now and I love the taste, I love the nic and relaxation, to me its better than smoking ever was in every way and if I run out, I just go to the local tobacco shop and pick more up. No need to order liquid and attys and batts and charge .... and have a designated dripper in the car, etc. I'm never vaping again.

Can someone explain this snus stuff, lol....does it taste decent? I've tried the orbs and they were YUCK! Do they have it in different strengths and stuff?

So happy for you and the mrs. Guttermouth :).

Thanks ~ L.
First off,Thanks!!

I'm gonna have disagree with bcb here and say that true snus has a great taste if you dig savory things and tobacco for the most part.it may take a few brands and strengths untill you find one that you really bond with (i've been getting along really well with roda lacket whites and ettan original portions) but i didn't find it offensive at all from the get-go.the wife on the other hand, had to go through considerably more untill she found one she was happy with all the facets ( portion size, nic level,taste,etc.. she has settled in on general mini mints and some of the catch stuff).I would suggest you start with the general mini mints, any of the catch mint or eucalytus portions and a couple of the more mellow low salt tobacco offerings (ettan is great for this)
as to strengths, we both started off at 4 mg mini portions and i'm hovering somewhere around 8 -11mg full size white portions and the wife is happy as a clam at 4 or 6.

i'd have to agree on e-cigs missing a crucial element. It was not immediately apparent to either of us though (aside from the lacking "aaah" factor) and took almost a month of no smoking for things to really get so bad that we had to remedy it.I would go back to e-cigs before i lit another cigarette at this point but, the hand to mouth thing was a biggie for me and getting over that, i really don't have the desire or need to smoke or use the e-cig at this point.
Snus on the other hand, was an absolute life saver for me.i smoked multiple packs of cigarettes a day for a little better than 20 years and so the original catalysts for starting had long since been lost to me.after a month off of them i remembered all too well and snus makes me level headed enough to function.I do love snus more than i ever did smoking as well.it's so clean and discreet in comparison, i don't stink and i don't have to threaten people anymore when they throw the passive aggressive fake smokers cough at me :)
I may be a snuser for the rest of my life now but, if it doesn't give me cancer then i feel like i'm ahead of the curve :p

Yup, I think you laid it out well. I gave up smokes to vape and about a month in I started to slip down that muddy path of anxiety and depression. I need the maoi's for sanity's sake since my body refuses to fend for itself. And snus is a lot more enjoyable than antidepressants :).
