k100 plating

So I have a question for the modders. Anyone know what the kamery k100 is made of. Well the battery tube really. I belive the bottom is chrome plated brass. I think I read brass somewhere. So I was an wondering if anyone truly knowswhat it is.

Now on to why. So I was thinking of removing the plating. Take itdown to bare metal. Make it more conductive. Then I thought about re-plating it. Someone else started a thread on gold plati g ss. Ive looked at a few plati g how to's not really insanely hard. It just kinda depends on the metal being plated. Thats why I am trying to fing out the metals. Any help would be great.

The bottom button on one of mine had a bad Crome job and all flaked off the first week. Its brass with likely pretty high copper %

Yeah, I got bored the other day and sanded all thr chrome off. Came out fairly nice. Just needs a little more polish, and maybe a coat of lacquer. Idk if im going to plate it now or not. A friend of mine just got a gold plater tho so we'll see

Yep main body and switch are brass. the outer section is not brass. Here is mine.

How did you remove the sleeve?

Remove the atomizer, and battery. Grip along the sleeve and strike the top on to a padded surface in a downward motion. The sleeve is pressed on. Should come off in a couple of wacks.

I've sanded my contacts, but not the exterior. You guys are doing some great looking mods to these mods
