K101 dirty little secret?

Stupid me tried using vice grips to get the top cap of my k101 unstuck (unsuccessfully) and ended up gouging the living **** out of the body, when looking at where it's gouged it almost looks like there's possibly brass/copper underneath? I think we can all agree its a great hitting mech for the price but because of the price it's doubtful that there really is copper or brass underneath, what do you guys think?

Ahh I see interesting, shows you how naive I am lol well it's probably time to retire the old guy, bought it as my first mech mod almost 5 months ago and it shows lol!

You could always disassemble the mod and take all the chrome off the tube/head (avoid the threads obv).

You would likely be able to sand/buff out those scratchs working it with some fine grit sandpaper (1500+) then either polishing or just leaving it brushed.
