So yesterday I bought a K101 Kit. Came with 2 batteries, Charger, and 2 Cartomizers. So went to use it for the 1st time today and I'm getting any kinda burt taste. I filled with Mt. Baker Vapor Hawk Sauce, but wasnt steeped so I thought maybe that was the problem, so I grabbed the other cartomizer and filled it with GoodLife Vapor Deadly Sin that has been steeped for almost 3 weeks, and same thing. So is this normal, not sure the OHM of the carto that was supplied. Is this just a dripping issue that is common. I guess I was just hoping for some amazing flavor, and was kinda let down but I also know this can't be right. Any Help is appreciated, Thanks

The k101 is a mechanical mod, and there is no power regulation. I hope they at least gave you decent imr batteries for it, if not you need to educate yourself on this very important topic. Hypothetically with fully charged batteries they will deliver 4.2 volts to your carto. If your carto is low resistance 1.5 ohms this is just under 12 watts with 2.8 amps (this may be too much for a cartobto keep up with the wicking). If it is 2.5 ohms you will have around 7 watts with 1.8 amps. If there is a short and your battery is not imr and unprotected li-ion with cobalt (the non "safer chemistry" battery) it can potentially vent with flames. A multimeter is a great friend for finding out atty resistances. If none of this makes sense please stop using your mod.

A carto has to be fully primed before use. If you burn the inner polyfill you will never get that burnt taste out. I let mine sit and rest after filling them to insure they are fully saturated before use.

I use the condom method to prime the carto. You killed your first carto with your 11 - 15 drops. I also use a carto filler like that made by MyVaporStore, and have found it works quite right. I strongly recommend you watch Phil Busardo's YouTube video on cartos. Once you burn a carto, it's toast. There's no coming back and you need to start over. Every few months I'll forget to prime my carto (I use tanks), and then I remember how bad, and how dead, my cartos get when they are not "perfectly" primed. The condom method is my old standby and it's all on the video.

Also, If you are using a mechanical with the carto, suggest you stay in the 1.8 to 2.2 range. I use low resistance (2.0 Ohm) Boges, and they work great with my juice. Some juice though can benefit from more or less heat, and the K101 does not allow you to regulate the voltage, to find the sweet spot, and, thus, the reason Vamo's are so popular as entry level APV's, these days. Like JazziMike said, do a wee bit more research. Power up and Vape On! Good luck!!!

Hard to beat a good dripper. However, the carto tank is my ADV....still. I use Phiniacs and Boges double punched cartos in low resistance, stainless, standard, on my Provari. I just got a Trident in, and it looks promising, until I saw Todd's review on the Origen Dripper, now I'm on a mission to find one (Vaping Craze is sold out).

OP - I would suggest a Vivi Nova, Protank, or some other clearomizer where you can change the head. Plus all of these come with silica wicks, which won't burn like the cartomizers that came with your kit. Try different ohm heads until you get a vape you like. But as the battery drains, your voltage will drop and you'll get less power to your atomizer, it's the nature of the beast with mechanicals. But if it burns, you won't have ruined your atomizer head or your juice. Keep at it, you'll find the right combo.

You may have started vaping a little too quick. I bought a brand new cartotank, filled it with juice, waited a little while, and started vaping. OMG I burnt it right off the bat! I was really disappointed, but I got a new carto and let it sit longer and then it was great. My hubby loves his K101 but he builds his own coils and wicks. Good luck with yours!

My first mod was also the K101. Get a clearomizer tank for it as others have said; I have had good luck with protanks. Super simple to swap the heads out. Just be sure to soak in alcohol before first use to clean them of machine oil.

I would also suggest getting the clearomizer with a pyrex tank so you can use pretty much all flavours of liquid without worrying that your tank will fail (some flavours manage to crack / make brittle plastic tanks)

Protank looks good on the K100, as the diameter of the protank is the same as the chamfered part of the K100 top
