Have you checked your build for a short?

I will second that, from the sound of it you have a short. remember, the k101 is a mech mod. there is no protection with it. A short will cause the uninterrupted flow of electrons causing your battery to overheat and discharge rapidly. put an ohm meter on the coil and see what you get.

Hi B_real... welcome to the asylum.

Are you knowledgeable about electrical basics? Do you understand continuity, resistance... what an open, short and ground are? If yes, then it sounds like you have a short to ground. If no... here's what's happening.
When you hit the button, instead of completing the circuit through the atty coil, the positive terminal is shorting to the mech body, or the negative side, AKA ground.

Like if you put a cable from the positive to the negative on your car battery... on a smaller scale, but just as dangerous.

As ImThatGuy is alluding to, chances are it's shorting to ground through the atty. You need to closely inspect your chimbus positive terminal insulation... it may be faulty. Do you have another atty? That work for you? If so... that's your sign, the chimbus positive terminal is shorted to ground.

Good luck,
SOF

Yeah, sounds like you've got a short.

Stop trying to fire it until you've checked your build with a DMM.
If you keep firing with a short you'll ruin your batteries and it could get a bit dangerous.

What does your build meter out to?

What kind of batteries are you using?

Could your coil be touching the inside of the top cap?

Don't attempt to use your mod to vape until you figure out what is wrong. A super hot battery is a dangerous situation.
