So I just picked up a new Kager eVod Clearomizer and noticed its got kind of a dry vape. Granted I just bought this and only vaped for about 10 minutes and am now charging my battery and can't really expect it to work like a champ right from the start but I was wondering if theres a break in period I should be expecting. I only ask cause I've got two Smoktech DCT tanks that I haven't had this problem with and don't really have any experience when clearomizers...expect a Vision Stardust but I'm still trying to forget that happened. Any feed back helps, thanks.

Not sure about dry but airy for sure. Not in a bad way. I've tried a half dozen tanks and the evod wins by a mile for the price. But I also prefer the cooler more airy vape of a bottom coil. They are typically not a good tank for non variable volt batts unless you go 1.8-2.0ohm heads. I tried a 2.4ohm on a regular ego batt and the vapor production/flavor was not good.

Yeah I did prime is but maybe dry isn't the right description, maybe thin taste is a better way to say it.

What kind of battery are you using and what is the ohm rating on the head?

Every once in a while I get a bad head right out of the blister pack but it's quite uncommon. I've never had a problem with flavor on evods. They really are a consistent workhorse with little fuss.

YMMV.
I received one EVOD had Yesterday. Washed and rince the tank and the head it came with. 2.4 Ohm listed but not tested by me.

Fill it up with my regular e-juice (So I know what it vaps like on CE5 and CE4. First 1/2 of the tank tasted bad (just not right, not burning, not too cool but just odd...). This morning, it taste great. And I switched off with mmy old CE5 with same juice and taste identical but a tad cool.

Just my finding.

Good luck and VAP on.

Its a knock off so its hard to say. The site "claims" its 4 volts when fully charged and drops down to 3 volts when dead...so I don't have a flip'n clue.

It is probably unregulated and your output voltage is the same as the battery is putting out. 4.2 at the start and drops from there. The evod heads do have a little better flavor after a break in period. If you are used to carto tanks the flavor is probably always going to seem a little muted in most clearo's. To get my evods on par with a carto tank I rewick them with cotton, In my experience silica has its own flavor that kind of fights the flavor of the juice a little. They are much easier to fill and maintain tho.

Standard 3.7 battery then.
Definitely need a Twist or other variable battery device.

Pick up a few 1.8-2.2 heads - lower is better.

People always say this. Silica is Sand/Glass Only taste can come from impurities hitchhiking on the wick. i.e. burning off or boiling Silica before use gets rid of any taste...........wonder why?
Most people that clean before use and or Soak in PGA never complain about a Silica taste.

It is even recommended to Boil Peaches & Cream cotton before use.

I feel so stupid I almost didn't post this. I was using a juice I haven't used before that's a tobacco flavor and didn't remember because I bought it with my pomegranate.

Switching juices and seeing if that fixes it. By the way thanks to everyone for the suggestions and feedback, its been a nightmare going to my vape shop to get answers because the wait is always so long...so long.

EDIT: Oh wow, worlds better. Just didn't have the juice I was expecting. Still I fan of my cartos but I think I could come to like this. Again guys thanks so much.

I would highly recommend investing in a basic vv batt. You can get an 1100mah smoktech winder for 20 bucks. After what I've learned since I started, having vv is exponentially easier and more efficient than having to switch out heads on tanks when chasing flavor and preferred vape. Especially if you like to switch flavors often.

FastTech and PriceAngels both have a knockoff 1100mAh VV battery. It's cheap, but the one I have is still going strong. Unfortunately, there's no "Off" mode on the battery so it's not exactly pocket friendly. Five clicks take it from 3.6v to 3.8v, five more to 4.2v, five more back to 3.6.

If I'm not mistaken, Evod's ship with a 2.5 Ohm coil installed. So a brand new Evod on a freshly charged standard eGo (3.7v) battery will deliver about 5.5 watts, which is Ok for some juices but will leave others wanting. At 4.2v I'm a little shy of 7.2v, which for me is Vaping Nirvana.

My ADV is Dekang's Desert Ship at 18mg. It's a PG-based juice and it rocks me through the day at 4.2v on the brand new tank.

I have built and bought 1.8 Ohm coils that let me use standard eGo batteries like yours and get a similar experience.

I have seven eGo batteries. Four of those are topped with Evods. Two of the others are topped with MT3S, the Evod's big brother. The last is topped with a CE4 disposable.

So for those of us using eGo-T tanks, is this an upgrade? I am just sick of the T tanks leaking (C less so) in hot/humid conditions.

I have read a lot of reviews on battery/mod upgrades and I like the Innokin itaste MVP, but I'm fine with my ego batteries for the moment. I'm reading mixed reviews in here on eGo battery performance but shouldn't a 650mAh upgrade ego or a 1050 mAh on VV work just fine with a device with 1.8-2.2ohms?
