I've had the Aerotank for about 5 days now, I use it mostly on my Innokin SVD set around 3.8-4.0 volts,(50/50 juice) I've used it on my Vamo's and SID so far it is great. The air flow adjustment does a much better job than the Smoktech air controllers I have. i have been vaping this thing to death, at least 12-15 tanks of juice through it and no issues so far. I have every intention of using my Kanger single coils in this, after I use up the 2 duals.
Price was the purchase point on the Kanger, the Aspire looks great, I have a single coil stainless tank Aspire and love it, BUT the Nautilus is at least $10-15 more, a 5 pack of coils runs $15-$18, they are not rebuildable, very costly. I do like that the Nautilus tank holds more juice.
I converted a couple Protank 2's and a 1 with the Davide BCC adapter so it allows me to use Aspire coils in a Protank(single coils) so far they work quite nicely.

Not to leave the carto's out in the cold I use 2 Smoktech Pyrex tanks and 2 Smoktech DCT's( with Boge F16 cartos) and I love them as well. Certain flavours ( I make my own) taste best with the carto's, others with BCC tanks.

FYI if no one has tried this yet, single coil Kanger Protank coils work in the Aerotank.

I did take the silicon sleeve off the chimney and flipped it over I wasn't sure it would seal in it's normal position. I use them this way anyways in the Protank thanks to a suggestion from someone in the forum, seems you get far less dry hits using it this way.

So I just started vaping again about 3 weeks ago, when I started I bought from my local smoke shop a generic ecig with a no name cart and no name 650mah battery. I really enjoyed it so I decided to step up my vaping equipment, so I purchased the highly reviewed kanger aerotank with a VV 1200mah battery, any reason why this no name disposable ecig is giving me twice as good vapor production and a smoother, more flavorful hit than my aerotank, I have tried every voltage and airflow combination and maybe 1ml out of my 2.5 I can vape on it like I want to other then that I'm getting burnt tastes and lack of vapor production in it and constantly have to adjust the voltage because it seems every time I hit my aero tank it hits differently with the same airflow and voltage. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is it my battery possibly? I love vaping but looking for some experienced help before I go and buy a vamo in hopes of a better vape, was also considering the aspire nautilus, just not sure which route to go. Oh and btw I've been smoking 20pg 80vg eliquid at 12 and 18mg trying to find which is best, I am definitely sensitive to pg because 50/50 60/40 and 100pg makes my throat super sore. Sorry for the long rant but just looking for some experienced guidance here....

Aerotank: that would have been supplied with a dual coil; takes double the power of a single coil; burns juice faster;
80% VG; slow to wick.

That combination sounds like a recipe for burnt hits / burnt juice.

I'd try for low voltage, high airflow and see if that gives you a more consistent vape; I think the coils are burning hot and zapping juice faster than it can wick.

Nor can I find anything on how to clean the atomizer, do I pull the coil out to clean it? Or can I run the coil under hot water or will that damage it??

soak in hot water or in everclear (alcohol); and later; dry burn and maybe change the topwicks

So what is the difference between an aerotank and a carto tank and is a carto the same as a clearomiser tank? How do the operate differently?? Is the nautilus considered a carto??? So many different names lol

A carto tank is for cartomizers;

It is the equivalent of a bottom coil clearo but using a standard atomizer head call a cartomizer; the only difference being you cannot rewick and recoil the carto (unless you use the Sophia, which is a rebuildable atomizer shaped like a carto, expensive and not widely available/popular)

I am also looking to upgrade as I did not have any luck with the eCE4 system. Would like to get an honest opinion on a better setup. I watched videos on the AeroTank and Nautius. They work great on the video!!!!

Any suggestions as to a better upgrade (and on-line service for Canada) would help.

Tks

What PG/VG ratio are you using. The OP is using high VG

I think you might be onto something here, but wouldn't the solution to an extra thick juice be to close the air flow holes and make the draw tighter in an effort to draw more juice into the atomizer.

The aero is a great choice. I had issues with taste as well and vapor here is a trick that helped so much. Take the coil out and you see the sick sticking out the sides at the base use a tweezers and remove 2-3 strands of the wick out. then vape. It should help with the wicking issue if it still is burnt take another strand out until it is right. For me usually 3 or 4 strands does the trick.

hope this helps

That might be workable I suppose for somebody who doesn't have a problem with a tight draw.

eVo grapeVape is my All Day Vape (ADV). I vape it in a ProTank II with the Aerotank base. Very happy with the way it vapes. Could be the difference in single coil (SC) vs dual coil (DC).

Note: acronyms clarified for the newbies, been reading a few posts from them about all the acronyms we use being unclear to them.

What is your power source, an eGo type battery?
Do you know what voltage you are vaping at?

Not to sound like a know it all but whomever said dual coils use twice as much power is incorrect. One cannot change Ohms Law, 2ohms is 2 ohms is 2 ohms, single coil double coil whatever. I use an Aero right now with dual coils because it came with it, it reads 2 ohms on my SVD and my meter. I run it at 3.8 volts the same as I do with a single coil 2 ohm coil and get just as much vapour. Yes the individual coils are 4ohms each, in parallel which is how they are configured that is 2ohms.
If I am wrong please correct me but one cannot change the laws of physics and electronics.

Not sure why folks are getting burnt and dry hits and going through coils, I'm on the same coil for about 6 days now and at least 15 tanks of juice have gone through it(50/50).

You are not incorrect;

If you put 3.8volts on a 2 ohm coil whether it is 1 single 2 ohm wire, or 2 4 ohm wires, you will burn 7.6 watts;

But the two 4 ohms coils are going to be running alot cooler than the single 2 ohm coil.

To put it another way, if you want to use one 4 ohm coil what voltage would you use?
You're using 3.8 volts on the 2 ohm coil; you'd probably go up to 5 volts if you had a 4 ohm coil.
Now add the second coil in parallel; now you're really cooking at 12.5 watts.

Close off the aero control base to make a tighter draw and suck in more juice.

This is the way to go. You are using thick juice because of your allergy and that is causing slow wicking problems. Also, pulling out wicking material will work, but be careful. If you pull out too much wick, you will have a flooding problem. Another solution, which has been mentioned, is to take primer puffs between each draw. This is the method I use. Take a draw, without pressing the button, and with the air holes closed. This will pull some liquid into the wicks, then press your button and take a draw with the air back open. Works for me when I am running Protank2's with thick juice. The aero control bottom is a MUST for protanks. It changes the game entirely. No more leaks, easy draw control. I bought one to try on a protank2 (thanks to a suggestion on these boards) and then went and bought four more. I won't run a Protank without one now. That and my eVic with VW curve have me spoiled. :D

I got one the other day. Aside from looking awesome, I'm not too hopeful about its performance. Mine doesn't want to work 1/2 the time, it's not always connecting with the device, and I've tried it on a cool fire 1, 2, and mvp. It's decent when it does connect, but not as good as my nautilus. I'm using 80vg and it's not dry hitting at all. Vapor is good, flavor is ok. Glad I only bought 1. Meh. I paid twice the price for the Nautilus, but I don't mind since it works well. May want to give that one a try. Too many options out there. My luck with the iclear 30b wasn't great either. That was my first clearomizer, I didn't know they shouldn't gurgle. Lol I'm still learning. Going to get out of my comfort zone and try a kayfun, or something similar next, and see how the other half live. Don't give up. So many variables. I'd probably replace the head with the spare it came with. Don't know how to fix my pin connection issue. But at this moment it appears to be working. Good luck.
