Have a Kanger Aerotank that is shorting out on my Telsa. Worked great for about 10 days, tried replacing coil, cleaning entire unit along with Telsa connections. ProTank 2 works fine....
Any ideas?
TIA
I didn't think of that! The silicone grommet could be squished enough to let the pin make contact with the head causing a short!
To the OP... Don't throw away spent coils as you may want to rebuild them someday. Click on the blue "2" next to blog entries under my avatar. It's a brief two part tutorial on how I rebuild Kanger dual coils into single microcoils.
Thanks for the replies, but, still no joy! I had already replaced the coils, cleaned everything. I have checked the pin, nothing that I can see.
Going to take it back over to the B&M where I got it and see what he can come up with...
Took it to the B&M today. We tried it (the Aero Tank) on another batt, same thing. Tried a new Aero Tank on my Telsa, showed "short." Tried all kinds of combinations trying to figure it out. My PT2 still works fine on it.
Ended up leaving it with him; his techie guy is coming in this afternoon and will try to figure it out.
He gave me a Vamo to use while we work on this....

Similar thing happened with me on my spinner, if I tightened it too much it would cause a short. When I cleaned out my tank I spun out the coil head and pushed the center pin outwards a little, also pulled the pin on the bottom of the coil downwards a hair, reassembled it and have been careful not to tighten it too much on my battery and haven't had any problems since. Before i had to leave the aero tank somewhat loose enough on my battery that it would wobble but now it seems I can tighten it a bit more with no problems.
I was just having the same problem. Turns out I was putting the head in too tight and it was really crushing the silicone ring right by the bottom connection. I pulled the pin out a bit and re-installed without tightening as tight and so far so good.
