I know people enjoy that, and that's cool. I just don't like fiddling. When I can swing by the shop every couple weeks and grab a pack of coils on my way to get groceries.

Lol trust me, I completely understand. But hey, I'll tell you what. Send me 1-2 of the kanger coils, I'll recoil them with cotton and a 1.2 ohm microcoil. Then, if you like the improvement, you can decide if it's worth it or not.

Not trying to push you into it, believe me, but it's always worth a try for something new :p

I'll save my next batch when I do a tank change again :)

See if one of your local vape stores won't take used ones back and give you a discount on your next purchase of more. One of mine will do that although I've never taken any back myself. I have a whole bunch just sitting here waiting for me to get around to rewicking/recoiling them...lol

If I were to request that at any vape store I frequent in my area they'd just laugh me out of the place.

Don't throw them away! There may come a time when you want to recoil those little babies. Then you'll REALLY feel all thrifty and smart. It took me about 6 or 7 months and I wondered why I waited so long!

Me too!! I just started rebuilding those little dudes and ..........WOW!! Great flavor and loads of vapor!!!

Ya know the crazy thing is, I watched youtube kayfun builds and those don't look near as difficult. I guess size does matter. Not that I plan on buying a kayfun. My vaping budget is history :p

Calamity, I'm with ya. No way in heck am I going to futz around with rebuilding in the teensy, tiny PT head. Ain't got no time for that junk. But building on the RDAs for my Reos, piece of cake. There's room to see what the heck I'm doing.

Back to the Kanger coils: I don't vodka soak at all (when I used them). Just a hot water rinse, soak, dry, then dry burn (Important step). Sometimes, I'll throw out the "flavor wicks" and sometimes I'll put in a strand of organic cotton yarn (1 strand from a "Peaches and Cream" type crochet yarn) in its place. Depends on the juice (thick or thin). But no vodka soaks! That's just alcohol abuse, lol! Or, if it's only every two weeks for ya, just spend the dang money for the convenience (hint: I buy mine from discountvapers.com--They're $6 for the five pack--$3 for shipping, so stock up on one order, if I recall).

I just started vaping about 2 months ago and I have already recoiled my kanger mini protank 2 v2 heads. It's truly easy and cheap and takes no time to do. I bought extra heads just so I can have more to rebuild and have in stock.

easy is subjective :p

I have a wrist that can't support a textbook meanwhile my husband lifts weights every day and to him that's easy. I have DeQuervains tendonitis in both thumbs. Even when it isn't flared up and painful, the dexterity it takes to work on little teeny things like this doesn't exist. If it was the size of something like a kayfun, or even an iClear 30 I'd probably be ok.

Oh dang thanks for the tip! at that price I can use a mini tank for a flavor tester...and rinse with hot water :D

You wasted booze for just cleaning stuff?

I like my Evod coils. I just disassemble and hose 'em off under very hot water in the sink every 3 days or so. Shake, blow, refill and vape away. I don't dry burn nuthin' - just prime puff until the water is gone. I've been using my current one for about 3 weeks and it's still going strong.

I'm with you on this. I bought a crap load off ebay for less than $1 each.

Kodiak, who would ever think that a grandma from Oklahoma and a mountain man from Alaska would have so much in common!:D

I also love my Evods, and I do just what you do with the coils. Drop them in warm water, dry and reuse. I tried to dry burn a coil once, and had a whole bunch of trouble getting the head back together again. Rinse and repeat works great for me, too.
