Has anybody seen this? If so, where can you find it for sale, or has this been released from Kanger yet?

Seems they are following the "dual-coil" craze, to get a bit more vapor at the cost of being easy to re-build. The number of vapers re-building their PT and evod coils must be cutting into their profits, dual-coil is an easy way to eliminate the drop in coil head sales.

Guess it's time to be sure to have enough spare coils for re-building to last a good long while...:)

How very cynical, and probably totally true. I have to say that's the first thought I had too.

I have an evod as well as a mini pro tank 2, and I have to say, I like the mini better. You just can't beat the price of the evods though.

As far as where you can get the evod 2, I can't find it anywhere. I checked Kangers distributors website and also all of their listed distributors on the szkanger website, and I can't find this anywhere.

To me, it seems like they would have announced something about expected release. You wouldn't think that they would just plaster it up on their main site with no way to obtain it...

I can't see how it can be that much better, I just like that it has a removable drip tip. If it is essentially the same, but with bcc, and a removable drip tip, and at the same price point, then it would be a steal. As long as they don't block the end user from being able to rebuild, not replace, the coils. Ahhemm, iClear 30S...

It looks like these utilize the same coils as all the rest though. Should be no problem.

The EVOD 2 isn't out quite yet. They thought it would be when they return from Chinese New Year Holiday, maybe the first week in February. It's essentially a BDC Bottom Dual Coil version of the current EVOD, but with a removable drip tip, as others have mentioned. It can accept either single coil or dual coil replacements (just like the ProTank 3, Aerotank, and T3D), although the airflow and cup is designed for the dual. Pricing should only be about a dollar or so more than the current EVOD....essentially the cost difference to the dual coil and the drip tip. The stainless shell (pictured) looks better than the last version. I'm looking forward to it!

I don't want a dual coil because if one fails it seems you will carryon vaping with bad taste (one burnt coil), and the price of replacing coils (I like heavy dark vapors).
Love Kanger, my work horses are a couple of Protank Mini 2s, but out of concern I stocked up on coils (really other than the bottom thing issue its PERFECT !) ; so what the advantage do dual coils and Evods have ? (considering you are not using higher voltage...)

I haven't personally experienced one burnt coil and one still good, but I suppose that's possible. But if it were a single, it would just be bad anyway so I'm not sure there's really a difference. Right?

Dual coils have a better chance of atomizing your liquids without hot spots. They have more surface area to atomize/vaporize your liquids. That can also mean a warmer vape, closer to that of a top-coil or carto. They can "take" higher voltage, and seem to do better with higher power than lower. So, potentially, they have better vapor production and better flavor, with a warmer vape.

The single coils will still work in the dual-coil base. The "chimney" still lines up, but the "cup" area is larger. So if you prefer a single coil or have a huge stockpile of spares, you can still use them. I use singles in my PT3, and haven't had any issues.

The cost of Kanger's dual coils over single coils is only about a dollar, but in my experience they tend to last a tad longer because you're spreading out the work/wear over two coils.

Haven't seen them yet, but I like the look :) As for rebuilding dual coil Protank 3 coils, it can be done, but for me, it is a real PITA. But I have done it with 2mm silica wick and 34 gage kanthal with a 1mm "flavor" wick to separate the 2 coils. It's much easier to assemble if you stab the flavor wick and the bottom wick with the wire from the top wick and if you use needles to stab lengthwise thru the 3 wicks.

I had noticed that MVS was stocking the EVOD 2 heads and thought, "Wait, what? First the iClear16s/b and now Kanger EVOD 2!?"

Any idea if it would be possible to use resistance to non-resistance crimps to tie the two coil heads together?

I'm considering just rebuilding my PT/EVOD heads using 30ga dead soft silver and Readywick, but those rubber insulators at the bottom are starting to disintegrate and fall apart from constant removal and replacement.

Alternatives??

I bought an Aspire ETS-BDC in stainless and it's working great on clear liquids. It absolutely HATES my NET's though and I already gunked up a coil in two days of vaping- not completely, mind you- just enough that I'm concerned to fill another tank up on that coil even though I've dry burned iClear16 heads successfully- going to try it on the Aspire, but only after I'm certain I can rinse them thoroughly enough to get the taste of the dry burn out.

At least with the EVOD's exposed coil and wick I can actually see what's going on, which is where I deduced that the easiest rebuild would be with silver and readywick (and use a blowtorch and/or boiling to clean the wick after the coil eventually fails).

Of course, I've never rebuilt a dual-coil. I have, however, received kanger head 'knock offs' that used a resistance to non-resistance solder point.

Thanks for the assistance.
