I just want to say "Thanks" for this thread and all who posted. I read the first page here last week, then ordered a red EVOD and matching battery... LUV it! It came Saturday and I've been in "noobie vaper's heaven" ever since. :)

I like the looks and feel of it, but I love the results most of all. I also ordered some 2.2 ohm coils and swapped out the 2.5 before filling it the first time. For me, this setup hits consistently good, tastes good even with the so-so juice I have, and does not leak... period.

Three weeks ago, I was a PaD M'bro Red smoker, started with eGo-T batts, CE4+ clone clearos, and a "generic" tobacco e-juice... shortly found I needed to "move on up". With the EVOD, one fill-up and a fresh battery gave me good clean hits and lotsa vapor all day Sunday (from 9am to 11pm)... nice.

I have 2 650mah and 1 1000mah....I am digging on all 3. The visual aesthetic while running the Evod clearo is great. 1.8ohm heads can blow some reasonable vapor on a fresh battery, but it seems to me the volts drop off about like my eGos. Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me...

you dont perhaps have a multimeter, do you?

Supposedly this will save the battery from too much stress, trying to use it
(putting a load on it), when the charge is low. This can make the battery fail prematurely.
BUT, its actually better to letthe battery drain fully before re-charging.
They can get a "memory effect".

This was supposedly fixed in the new lithium ion bats, but i am not totally convinced of that.
Memory effect now also found in lithium-ion batteries

I worked as an electronic technician for 10 years
and an RF engineer for another 8 after that.

---------------------------------------

wow im surprised to hear of the memory effect affecting lithium batts. i thought that was only for the older chemistry nickel batteries. battery university needs to update themselves.

i agree they do get a memory if not depleted fully before charging even though all the experts say otherwise. Has there been any updates amongst the experts? who are they again? people who use flashlights in their businesses?

i'm curious whether the evod is any different from regular egos(not buck boost) that it will have shorter overall life if i use a low ohm >1.5 atomizer. other than that, it's sharp looking and vast improvement over the regular ego hard protruding plastic button. they could make it even better if they did that size button with soft rubber like on the riva style ego.

i never did get that kanger battery. it was on my radar for a long time, but the smok winder 900mah was coming in at the same price as the evod batts. so i just got the winders instead. now im glad because the recall on the evod batts likely would have affected me. its good that kanger is moving to twists now and passthrus as well. that will be nice. as long as they dont have a recall on those too! :/

looks nice:

Just got a couple of these batteries and they're definitely real solid. The constant 3.7v is awesome. Another cool feature is the button being flush to the battery body. I've had other eGos that drained a tank because my pocket either turned it on or I forgot to turn it off. I can't see this ever being a problem with the evod. The button is kind of hard to find in the dark but I think it's worth it.

It appears ONLY batteries purchased from Heaven Gifts are affected by the recall.

"To all KangerTech customers:

KangerTech is voluntarily recalling all EVOD batteries purchased through Heaven Gifts, that were supplied between the end of March and beginning of April. While only a few batteries may be affected, we are recalling the entire batch of 6000 EVOD batteries.

We were recently made aware of an issue with an EVOD battery sold through Haven Gifts, an official KangerTech distributor. After extensive research, we found a potential issue with the internal cell used in the manufacturing of the EVOD, which could fail during the charging of the battery. These EVOD batteries were manufactured between the end of March to early April, and were only distributed to Heaven Gifts.

KangerTech takes its customers safety very seriously, and is working with Heaven Gifts to recall and replace all of the EVOD batteries that may have this issue. While we recognize the inconvenience recalls cause our customers, we are taking these actions on their behalf to help ensure their safety.

EVOD batteries sold directly through KangerTech, and other authorized resellers, are not affected in this recall, and are safe to use. If there are any questions regarding the safety of your EVOD battery, please feel free to contact your place of purchase, or KangerTech directly."

Hope this helps.
