Kanger EVOD issue - burning

I'm new to vaping. Just got my first setup - ego c twist VV + Kanger EVOD clearomizer. Setup was easy enough. The problem I am having is that every time I take a hit from my PV, the vapor is extremely harsh. I feel as though the back of my throat is coated with cold acid. It doesn't feel "hot" like I'm breathing fumes from a cigarette... it feels cold and just super harsh. Spicy almost. If I inhale to my lungs, I feel like coughing, and it feels like my lungs burn. If I keep it in my mouth, I guess it's manageable. I have the ego tuned all the way down to 3.3V, because if I go anything above that, the vapor gets even harsher. If I try above 4V, it's basically un-usable, and I start hearing some popping/crackling.

I tried three liquids that I purchased with my setup. All liquids are 50/50 ratio:
1. 12mg "grape" flavor, which is just unbelievably harsh, practically feels un-usable (in fact I dumped it out of my tank to try the other flavors).
2. 6mg peach is OK but still hurts / feels cold and spicy if I inhale
3. 6mg mint flavor is the same as the peach.

I tried following some youtube videos to disassemble the atty and burn any priming liquid from the wicks, washed everything, and none of this had any effect. Tried letting it sit overnight, still the same. Tried different batteries and different EVOD heads (I have two of them), same thing.

I've used a friend's PV quite a bit when going out, some sort of vivi nova's on an ego c twist, and never experienced anything CLOSE to what I've felt with mine, even when I was messing around with his and set it to max voltage to see what happens.

I'm thinking it might be the particular brand of liquids, but not sure if it's the liquid, the clearomizer, the battery, or some combination of all three. Any ideas?

Just sounds like the nicotine is too much for you. Although 6mg is already very low.

I've tried my friend's setup (ego c twist, + vivi nova heads), vaped the whole 3ml tank over the course of 3-4 hours (partying lol), and done this many times times... no problem at all, feels great, and no harshness when kept at 3.8-4.2V. In fact that's what made me want to get my own setup. Now feeling frustrated that I cannot replicate the experience, and not sure if it's the heads, the clearo, the juice, or what?

As for the voltage too high, well I've had to keep the voltage all the way down to 3.3V (the minimum) to create the "smoothest" hit, and it still hits harsher than I expect (hurts my throat and lungs). If I go to 4V then more vapor is produced, and it's even harsher. Above 4 and I basically can't use it.

I'm sort of leaning toward it must be the juices... All from the same brand (although a reputable company).

I'm gonna try steeping it over the next few days to see what happens.

The throat hit is sort of like smoking a VERY overly menthol cigarette. Like a heavy menthol crush after crushing it. Breathing out through my nose stings if I inhale deeply. I was just wondering if anyone out there has had the same experience with ego c twist and kanger evod clearomizer combo, or is it just me for some reason...?

The vivi nova is a top coil system (warmer vapor) the evod is a bottom coil system (cooler vapor)
If it's the coolness of the vapor you don't like ("Like a heavy menthol crush after crushing it") try a top coil. I like warm vapor. I use Kanger T-2. It works for me. It might not for you. Have you tried the same juice on your friend's nova?

That's all I can say to try to help.

The liquids may need to steep if the flavoring is alcohol based. I had a tropical punch that was almost painful to vape but a few days with the cap off and shaking twice a day fixed it. If that doesn't work look at getting liquid with a higher vg content. Usually makes for a smoother throat hit.

I agree, you have a juice that is being stubborn. It is surprising how some juices can change if you leave the cap and filler nipple off and let them air out for a couple days. I have read where some folks get a bottle of glycerin from the supermarket and thin out overbearing juices. Haven't tried that yet. Haven't had to but it's an idea.
