Kanger Genitank Mega

Hey all, ive had my Kanger Genitank Mega for 6 months now and i deep clean it every couple weeks. My question is, i want to take apart the air controller piece but every time i try i feel like im going to strip the threads off. I'm pretty sure it comes apart because i can see where it separates and i've seen the smaller version being taking apart. Any thoughts?
