Has anyone tried this before? I've read once somewhere else on the forum that this has been tried and worked, but I've otherwise read very little about it. I picked up some clear T3S clearomizers for a pretty cheap price from MFS.com, then got some of the new (single-coil) TOCC (T3 series Organic Cotton Coil) 1.8ohm heads from Sweet-Vapes (also for a pretty good 5-pack price). Then I got some Kanger v3 Airflow Control bases from Sweet-Vapes as well, to try out on the T3S clearmizers. I'm hoping the combination will work out well.

Currently my main clearomizer of choice has been the iClear 16 TDC, but those have been less satisfying recently, and the 1.6ml juice capacity of those has always been a little limiting - though they are very quick and easy to top refill. The Aspire ET clearomizers are kind of nice in their juice capacity, close to 3ml, but the Aspire coil heads for those aren't so great for me. I have to use high VG juice, and despite diluting with distilled water, lots of coil heads just don't last very long when running thicker juice like that. Dry hits or hot juice spitting are a common issue with Aspire BDC or BVC heads, unless I draw lightly and keep the voltage way down.

The Kanger T3S clearomizers have a large juice capacity, 2.5-3ml, and now these TOCC coil heads are out that fit them, so that seems worth checking out. I don't mind the plastic tank or plastic non-removable mouthpiece. The thing is it seems that (for high VG juice in clearomizers) I could really use some adjustable airflow control - which the T3 series doesn't normally come with. I'm open to other options, but I really haven't found anything else that looks like it will work in a 14.5mm size range eGo topper. I tried the Nautilus Mini previously, despite its size on an eGo or iTaste v3 battery, but it was as problematic with high VG juice as the other Aspire clearomizers I've already tried.

My only other option is the rather pricey Kanger Aerotank Mini or Genitank Mini. They look like they might work. They have airflow control, and SOCC coil heads are available for them. For the money though, their limited juice capacity (1.5ml) and not-so-quick bottom fill method seem like a bit of a risk to try before giving this other option a shot first. I'll report back on how it turns out.

Okay, so the mini airflow control base does not work on the T3S. I kind of screws on, but not really, and the T3S coil heads don't really fit properly, so the assembly simply doesn't work. Some other (non-Kanger) eGo specific airflow control valves might work. There is one out there, but it adds length to the entire assembly. I may try it out anyway. I think they are about $5 from a small number of smaller suppliers out there. None of my regular suppliers stock them. They are pretty uncommon these days.

As to the using the new TOCC heads in T3S clearomizers - without the airflow control valve? They work, but the cotton tends to burnout fairly quickly. On average I get less than a day's worth of use out of one of these coil heads. The wick and coil gunk up and burnout that quickly. That's with highly thinned high VG juice, running at low voltage ranges (below 3 volts). The vapor production before the wick fails is very, very good, and flavor delivery was pretty decent as well (though not the best). Because of that I'm very disappointed these new coil heads didn't workout for my needs. The heads may need to be washed out first before intial use for better flavor results. A common issue with kanger heads.

Using clearomizers or tanks to vape high VG juices is a constant issue for me. Thinning the juices with distilled water or vodka helps somewhat, but the juice can never seem to be thin enough to run consistently well in any setup I've tried so far. Currently I'm just trying out the 1.6 ohm standard wick heads that came installed in my T3S clearomizers - still at 3.0 or below voltage levels. Vapor production and flavor delivery are not nearly as good as with the cotton wicks, so I probably will not reorder any replacements.
