    Hello everyone!
So I'm looking at rebuilding the atomizer for my Kanger Protank 2. I have a spare atomizer that I don't use because it has higher resistance, 2.2 ohms, and I'd like to rebuild it. I have 36g Kanthal wire and 2mm silica wick, how can I rebuild the atomizer to produce more vapor and flavor? Longer wicks? More wraps on the coil? My battery is a Kanger VV, 3.2v-4.8v, so I can put out more power than what I usually have it set to (3.6v), but would something like a sub-ohm coil do what I'm trying to achieve? Any tips or a link to a rebuild guide, anything like that would be absolutely great. Thanks!

I dont know what gauges they use from factory but a +1 for Sthurs link,

I use 1.5mm syringe tips (metric cause im from NZ) 8 wrap micros with org cotton and 32awg from ebay, comes out at 1.8ohm and cranks

coils last about 2 weeks on a daily vape, they usually take a day to break in but flavour is wayy better than buying replacements

I use 30 gauge in my kanger recoils and get much more mileage from them than the stock. I imagine kanger uses the thinner wire to cut costs and life of the coil. The stock ones last long enough to be useful but short enough that you'll soon have to purchase replacements. Consumerism that can be avoided by rebuilding.

When you say this, are you actually talking about the coils themselves? Or the wick needs to be replaced? The way I have been going about this so far since I don't have an Ohm meter, and the two coils I have tried to build have shorted, is to pull out the silica wick and replace it with cotton.

Just wondering how many times I would be able to do this, If the coils didn't pull out or bend beyond repair sometimes.

Should not use regular Resistance wire. The Protank heads use a special NR-R-NR wire. Which actually makes things easier. The NR=No resistance, R=Resistance wire. These wires can be bought premade to what ever resistance you want. No you may ask why do they use this wire. Because with the leads of the coil not having much resistance they don't get as hot. If you remember the PT head has a rubber insulator. If you don't use the NR-R-NR wire you will be burning that insulator an heating up the head metal. This wire can be purchased at Discount Vapors and Fasttech. It' s cheap and you don't have to worry about figuring out how much to use. You can see the reistance wire and you use up all that on the wick and use the rest for your connection.
