Hi. I just started using a Protank 3 and I am curious what other people's experience has been. I don't taste that much, if any, difference over the Protank 2. Yes, it has double coils and I thought there would be more pronounced taste or something because of it. I don't really see it. All I have really noticed is that it burns juice twice as fast. :)

Thanks.

I just bought one on Monday, 12/2/2013 and I packed it away on Thursday, 12/5/2013. I couldn't get it to work properly because the heads kept clogging so I've switched back to using single coil cartomizers until my new carto tank arrives.

I tried to like the ProTank 3 but I refuse to fiddle with products that should just work. We can split the atom and put a man on the moon but Kanger can't engineer coil heads that work?

I've had great success using an IBTanked carto tank but since I broke it I've been experimenting with other brands and tech. I have to admit I just prefer the experience of simple cartomizers.

Just my opinion.

I think the "filler" system is superior to the "wick" system so I expect at some point what is being called "cartos" now, will become the new "atomisers".

I used cartos a few times, and they were a major pain to fill, which you had to do constantly. No thanks. I used carto tanks for awhile, too, which was better. But neither of those worked as well as kanger protank II's. I haven't tried the Protank 3 version, and probably won't. Dual coils just mean twice as many things that can go wrong, and the Protank II is already doing a good job.

A carto tank is just a tank where the 'atomiser' is what we are currently calling a carto; like you said, using the carto alone without a tank is just a major pain to fill.

On the other hand, swapping out a steel wool filler is hugely easier than trying to recoil a 1mm wick. So those atomisers are going to start becoming more and more like cartos in my opinion.

And the Protank 3 apparently does NOT need the dual coil atomiser they made for it; the older atomiser also works. So I would say for those who bought it, just pop in your normal coils, and take comfort in the knowledge that unlike the protank 2, you won't be vaping any glue/epoxy.

That's how I feel about all of my Kanger tanks.

Nice to see that I'm not the only one that doesn't care for the Kanger tanks but to be honest, I haven't found a tank yet that I can say I actually like. I've tried the ProTanks, Vivi Nova and Aspire and to me they all seem to have a burnt muted taste although the ProTanks seem to be a little worse. I think a lot depends on the flavors that you vape also. I actually thought that they all worked pretty good for tobacco and some of the stronger fruit flavors but I cant even use them for the sweeter flavors anymore. I recently purchased a Kanger Evod, a Smok Tech Aro Tank and a Smok Tech Pyrex Aro Tank and I think all three produce a better flavor than the ProTanks, but out of the three I think the Smok Tech Aro tank produces the best flavor. I think it actually produces a better flavor than the larger more expensive Aro Pyrex tank. Having said that, Im still looking for a good tank that doesn't mute the flavor and have a burnt taste. I miss not being able to remove the tip for cleaning plus I would like to find something that holds more juice than the smaller tanks that I've been using recently.

I imagine its more a matter of the atomiser that determines the flavor;

And that looks like the same universal BCC atomiser - although of course, the particular atomiser you get might vary; I have 2 different versions of those atomisers; 1 type I got from the guy that sold me vivi novas and the others I got from another guy who sold me the protank. - (correction: not a kanger protank; it has no logo, and gee, it sure looks like the picture of the smoktech trophy I;m looking at right now).

Yeah, the Aro replacement heads look pretty much identical to the Kanger replacement heads but the threads are different. The wicking set up is the same though. I also figured the taste would solely depend on the head (atty) but in my opinion there's a big difference between the Aro pyrex tank and the Aro plastic tank. The pyrex tank has a bit of a burnt taste and the smaller plastic tank with the plastic tip doesn't even though they use the same atty. Its the same thing with the Evods and the Protanks. They both use the Kanger heads but the Evods seem to produce a better flavor than the Protanks.

different threads!!! wow! good to know.

wierd that the pyrex tank has a burnt taste; could it be something to do with the metal, or perhaps there's glue used to join the pyrex and metal.
