I was disappointed as well. I almost exclusively use glass carto tanks and was looking forward to the "plug and play" aspect of the Protank. In addition to the airy draw, mine leaks more than it should and, as I have posted on other threads, it doesn't perform well when the glass is cold. That said, I've gotten used to it. For me, it takes about as much fiddling as a Stardust, but it is glass. It also doesn't seem as flavorful as my carto tanks, but I don't have to prime cartos.

I had ordered two more and was disappointed enough with the first one to cancel the order, but have since acquired a second. The new one is just as airy, but hasn't leaked so far. I restricted the airflow on the first one, but it seemed to make it leak more. (I've been told the design is airy on purpose, so it won't leak, but I don't know if that's true.) I used a band aid, by the way, which actually worked quite well, since it has tiny holes that still let air in. I haven't tried restricting the airflow on the second one.

Other people have had different experiences, but for me: it gets points for being glass and ease of use; it loses points for airiness, leaking and loss of flavor. Overall, I think it's okay, but not the greatest. I also would not recommend it for new vapers, since if a person hasn't dealt with leaking onto the battery connection, occasionally getting a mouthful of juice and an airy draw with other devices they may get frustrated.

ETA: As long as we're posting "How I blocked the airflow" pictures

i have 4 of them and not 1 leak.
there was a batch of them out that had leaking issues.
supposedly they solved the problem.
most retailers, from what i have heard are doing exchanges.

The leaking problem with the first batch had to do with where the glass met the metal at the top. It's covered in-depth on the Sun-Vapers site. The problem i'm talking about is regular leaking through the bottom.

Hi, I'm using an ego twist, just about taste vape at about 4v, but gets burnt taste above 4.4v

It's not awful, and I like the decent vapour production, but can't live without the taste.

Tried loads of juices And finally managed to settle on 2 I like for an all day vape.

Can't believe I thought I'd save money quitting smoking! Must have spent more on flavours and different clearos/tanks to find out my first choices were best! Lol that's life I guess. Now the fiancée is into it as well I'm gonna have to reign in the spends!

Once you find out what flavors you like and what delivery system it gets way cheaper. I finally decided on carto tanks and Kanger t3's. I buy 6 bottles of juice a month, 7 or 8 tank cartos and a few Kanger replacement heads. Costs me about 55 dollars with free shipping. That usually does me for the month.

Compared to the 180 dollars a month I was spending on smoking and feeling like crap! I believe I would still vape if it did cost me 180 a month. The way I feel is well worth it.

I have two and neither have leaked. I also don't really mind the airy draw; definitely way more easy than my T2+ RBAs. But then again I have a 5ml Cobra and am somewhat not liking the small airhole and tight draw, probably a connection. I'm currently vaping some AiV Afternoon Tea and it tastes just fine (and that's saying something, as it's probably safe to say that it's a somewhat delicate flavor to begin with)

Perhaps I'm just lucky I guess

To plug one of the slots (airholes), I used jb weld... just enough to flush out the holes... works great. but i just ordered a new one and use it on my ego twist with included ego cone and the pull was fine. not too tight or not too airy. the protank i plugged is used on a kicked legacy. ot doesnt sit flush with the head of the legacy so i believe that causes more airflow... hope that helps.

I don't own one, yet, but I did try one yesterday and have done some reading. ...
The one I hit yesterday was awesome. ...felt the same as my carto tank and the pv was a provari. I did not notice what voltage was set but I got a good throat hit, tons of vapor and nice taste. Not to mention my juice guy uses pharmaceutical grade products so with the right voltage its a perfect hit with every device ive used.

I looked up info on the kp last night and what I learned about leaking was more user error than anything....when filling the tank u broke the seal, overfilling causes the leakage when u put it back together. ...as far as an airy draw ive read that the more flush the tank is with ur pv then the better hit....ive noticed this runs true with my Carto tank as well.
As far as flavor ive noticed with my 510 atty the longer I vape a flavor the better, when cleaning it if I don't let it dry I notice a muted flavor as well.....I don't see why the kp would be different in that aspect.
Im mobile so please excuse typos.....:)

It does take some fiddling, but since I got it to work adequately the protank has been the only thing sitting on my mod.
I've been switching back and forth from one to another, I have 7 of them, and it doesn't hurt that these juices I've been using are nicely steeped by now. I didn't need to do anything special, great flavor right off the bat! Most of them have stopped the hissing when in use now too.

Its amazing how this thread gained 6 pages overnight.

Just got mine today, filled it up immediately. Not too airy with the eGo cone, but it's definitely loud. Holding a finger over air holes when dragging helps. I don't see any leaking but I've hardly used it so far. Vape is cool, which I love. Easy on my lungs. Taste isn't as good as when I dripped this flavor, but eh, what can you do.

I had the same problem, all I did was cut a piece of plastic with a hole in the center. Place on the bottom of the tank before screwing on your device. Problem fixed.....BTW Taste is great, better then my viva nova

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I didn't have any plastic at hand (at work), so I took the cardboard from the back of a pad of paper and...presto! 6.5 watts on a VAMO V2 is perfect.
