Im curious as to way it is recommended not to let the Protank II mini go below 1/3 full as stated in various places. I noticed this after many times i've let mine go down almost to the wick and have never had an issue. I do keep the coil clean and dry burn every few days and I also remove one flavor wick from all new coils before use. Is there a real reason and I just happen to be lucky not to have had any issues?

Many bottom coil clearos have the same "recommendation" although like you, I generally run them essentially empty with (usually) no problems.

Since a slight vacuum (i.e. negative pressure) is what keeps them from leaking, it's my thinking that with more air space and less juice, they might be more susceptible to temperature or air pressure changes than when full (or fuller...), and loss of that vacuum will often make them leak.

Or, the recommendation could be like computer tech support. Got a problem? Reinstall Windows.

Think David hit the nail on the head. On bottom feeds i know if you fill them to full you get what I call Vapor Lock. LOL With out a bit of air at the top it does not feed well. So if you get a lot of air it would do the reverse. But like you I've not had that problem with the PT type attys. I've only seen it in my Kayfuns.
