I like the Protank, and have had good success using 32g kanthal and hemp, which gives me a really robust yet airy TH.

The only negatives are:

1) They are a bit fiddly. You don't have much room to work, and you must make sure to get your wick/coil low enough in the cylinder so that the insertion of the post doesn't put metal on metal and short it out. I can wrap 3 1mm hemp strands, barely, but am going to try two and see if I still get a nice hit, and a bit more leeway in terms of keeping it stable.

It's very easy to thread the components just slightly "off", and then you get leaking problems. But if you thread it exactly right, it shouldn't leak, and you can tighten the threads without worry of losing draw, due to the architecture and the air holes at the bottom of the base.

2) I want a Protank on which I can place a drip tip! I've gotten sort of used to the metal, but over time the SS coat is bound to degrade, (I guess exposing brass?) and I much prefer acrylic on lips to metal.

also won't hold 5ml of juice. I have to carry around a bottle of juice just to refill during the day.

Are any of you Genesis Users? I want to know how the Kanger ProTank compares to a good, properly built Genesis Atty...

I would say the Protank produces a vape that is more like Genesis RBAs/Hybrids than any other clearo/tank/atty on the market but it doesn't produce as good of a vape as a properly set up genesis rba/hybrid.

The draw is about the same as any Gensis RBA/Hybrid I have tried but that's where the similarities stop. It does have terrific vapor/TH/flavor, IMO. But, if you ask me, nothing comes close to Genesis RBA/Hybrids with properly set up wick and sub-ohm coil.

So, out of every atty/clearo/tank/carto I have tried, the protank is the closest to replicating a Genesis style vape but it doesn't quite reach the level of greatness that a Genesis atty is capable of. It IS however, a great alternative to Genesis attys when out-and-about. You can just toss it in your pocket and not worry about it staying upright but still get a fantastic vape that is very similar to genesis attys.

What bottom coil attys DO hold 5ml? I don't know of any.

I've run a lot of juice through mine. No flooding and best of all no dry hits or hot vapes. I've refilled it 3 times and if I had tried that on my Vivi Nova's I'd be vaping metal and carbon and I put my nastiest wick clogger through it. Flavors like Mocha and maple cure bacon. In the Vivi i'd be having to soak and dry burn for a long time by now. I did not remove one of the 1mm wicks as Paul did either. Lots of vapor at 6 watts as apposed ot 8+ on the vivi nova. Only thing I dislike is the built in tip I like the option of changing tips. Easy to fill and you can change the head without emptying the tank. Easy to rebuild too if your into that.

If there is an actual "leaking" issue it may be from wick degradation or wicks not having been fluffed up
correctly.

With 2mm. of cotton wicked through the coil and fluffed under magnification to be sure there are no gaps around the edges, there has been only a few instances where I've noticed any dampness on the connector and all have been when it's been getting hit fairly hard and often. I run around an 80pg/20vg mixture and consider the protank to be the best yet of the devices I've tried.

That said, would I buy another? Probably not, as I'm convinced something even better will be along shortly, there always is.
Might get 2 of the minis when they come out though.(one at a time of course):vapor::vapor:
