Hey guys. I've been running the protank for awhile now and love it with one exception. I run 1.8's on a Provari at 3.6 to 3.9 with a 80/20 vg/pg mix. I've noticed that once the atty hits 2.0 ohms I start getting a leak at the threads and fluids in the mouth. Is this normal operations? I'm using a DIY peppermint/vanilla flavor

Vape is getting cooler due to rising resistance.
Need to slightly bump Voltage to compensate.
Coil may clear and drop back so be mindful and if needed, reduce voltage to normal.

If mine does that on the eVic I'll bump it 1/2w or .24v until clear and back down.
You can also just swap coils and rinse the used one in Very HOT water and let dry.
They will fail eventually.

Some say keeping the Protank 1/2 full or more helps.
I have not seen a difference and have vaped to empty without a problem.
Keeping 1/2+ kind of defeats the purpose of larger tank:laugh:

Ok these tanks and most other BCC work purely on vacuum. Meaning when you breathe in, it creates negative pressure in the tube, causing liquid to flow into the wicks. So for one, if you are flooding you may be drawing too hard. Took me a while to figure out but if i try to rip on a BCC it floods like a maniac, if i barely draw, they dont wick, and dry hits.

As for the ohms increasing, usually when that happened to mine they were dead and done. If i kept trying to use them i would get floods or dry hits galore from just trying to get them to give me a normal vape. These things are so cheap to replace or rebuild to me its not worth the fuss either way

As for the proper voltage for 1.8ohms i get the best vape around 3.4-3.5V. When i go higher it doesnt seem to improve, only burn out my coils faster. Just my experience, maybe my juice and how it likes that heat, idk!

Best answer I can give is bump a little at a time until it gets better or you catch a slight burnt taste/back down if needed.

I have had coils as described above, almost dead. Rinsed in Hot water, popped the post off and remove the Gunked up flavor wicks.
Holding wicks with a Tweezer, pass through flame of a Bic lighter to burn off gunk and laid aside.
Looked at Gunk caked coil, attached to battery and Pulse burned until Wick was white again. Blowing off burnt carbon between Hot pulses while cool.
When reassembled they work as New.
I have several coils that have passed this cleaning and still work properly after months of use.
I have plenty of spares, but why throw away what is still good?
Car gets dirty, wash or trade-in? Car wrecked - different story.

What did you use to blow the carbon off with?

Just blow off after burnt loose - lightly brush with a tooth pick if needed, but CAREFULLY or the coil could be damaged.

If a car cost me 1 dollar, id throw it away when it needed to be cleaned

No problem.
Some have other financial priorities, even where $1 is concerned. They do add up.

Ive thrown away about 10 heads over 6 months, i think i can handle the 20 bucks a year. I cant imagine how someone who requires was paying to smoke prior to ecigs if that is a major concern.
