Just a heads up to subtank owners out there the new insulators are shipping out. Mine arrived today. They included 2 free of charge, sent them my information on the 22nd so pretty okay service. They are brown and not clear like the PEEK insulators in my mini, so we'll see. I'll likely not put black jelly bean back in tho.

edit: Quick update they did NOT send me 2. one is for the 25mm subtank, the other doesn't fit. I presume the other may be for the Subtank Mini, when i tear mine down in a couple days i'll check. Also they did not include the small insulator for the pin, but mine is still in good shape and didn't dissolve like the deck insulator.

after a little looking around apparently the brown ones are a blended peek with better performance or something. If the other brown one in my package doesn't fit the subtank mini i have no idea what they are for. its not deformed or anything like its a bad part, it looks very much like a different molded part.

So white nasty insulators are v1, clear insulators are v2 and the brown ones are v3, assuming the information i found on the web is correct.

Cool.

For anyone not in the US, it can possibly be a hassle/runaround. The online canadian shop I bought mine from has been responsive. While they do not have the updated insulator as Kanger said they would, they are trying to get them.

It's a non issue for me anyway as I don't vape Pluid. I just wanted the updated part.

Yeah a lot of people wanted to stick with horse carts when Ford was making the model T.... can't say I blame them.
Not a very good analogy for too many reasons. I don't ever want to have to rely on kanger qc again.

They went through three coil revisions in the short period of time that I used an areotank......

That's great and all, except we are not talking about kanger coils. We are talking about the insulator's used in the rba sections. I would ask you not to derail the topic, but you didn't even bother to read any of it.

the insulator's used in the rba sections.

The review by PBusardo on the mini... he had both clear and off-white insulators in two mini subs. His review: The clear was good. Off-white was not. Quote " it tastes like monkey azz". Off-white is what came in my 25mm subtank. Does not taste like monkey azz, hasn't melted, hasn't been a problem at all. He said some guy emailed him asking him to mediate with Kanger to bring attention to a problem he found while using Pluid in the subtank.

I've only ever seen ONE video on youtube and no other pictures of that insulator failing while using Pluid. There are two threads on this forum from one user who claims this happened as well but provided no pictures of the problem so... hmmm. Now we see daily comments in various other threads about bad insulators from people who don't even own subtanks like that's the truth or something.

OK whatever, if Kanger is gonna give away new insulators, I'll take one. For the record, I put juice with cinnamon in the rba and let it sit overnight....fired it up the next day, 25 watts on my ipv mini. It's not melted. Cinnamon isn't my thing but I wanted to see for myself. Much ado about nothing.

disclaimer: no idea what monkey azz tastes like but I reckon I'd know if it was in my vape. :D Just wanted to say that if PBusardo says clear is good, it must be so. No idea why Kanger would put out a further revision of brown but maybe we will find out in the fullness of time.

second disclaimer: not intending to say that Pbusardo would know what monkey azz would taste like either. no offence to anyone intended. :p

i didnt have any trouble with the white insulator until i started vape'n black jelly bean from vape wild. after about a day of that it started to taste weird and the deck insulator was just dissolving into the fluid. I have not had any trouble with the clear insulator in the mini yet but i am going to stay away from anise flavored juice's in them, i dont like cinnamon anyway so that's not an issue. To be fair had some black licorice given to me to try from madvapes and it didnt melt the insulator either. I'll likely stay away from both flavors in my tanks anyway to be sure.
