So Cal
I saw mention of another user enlarging the juice channels on his with positive results. Since one of my channels is larger I may try and file the smaller one to match, just pisses me off to have to do this. I've actually tried rewicking the occ coils and the rba deck at least a dozen times each. They always start out amazing and then end up dry hitting after 1 or 2mls of juice.

My OCC coils are fine. But I bought it to use the RBA, so I'm thinking I need to go find a file and see if I can fix this. But first I'll see if Elev8 will RMA this one (I've only had it since Saturday, so fingers crossed).

Hopefully Kanger can work out whatever the issues are that seem to be in the RBA. In my opinion this tank in RBA mode is much better than the BDC coils. I have tried many tanks before this such as the fogger2,4, Orchid4, Aqua2, Kayfun Lite and most recently Kayfun 4 and this tank in RBA mode I believe is better vape than all of them. Considering its simplicity, smaller size than all of those, juice capacity, and how incredibly easy it is to coil its the best RBA tank I have used. Hopefully the replacement RBA fixes the problem on my 2nd tank.

Sweet-Vapes just responded to my question about the replacement RBA they sell. "We have the RBA base that has the juice channels fully drilled down to bottom of the deck. Our version is the most up to date version available."
Sweet-Vapes

I thought they might. But then again your juice channels on the faulty one look completely drilled - as are mine! I doubt I'm going to hear back from Elev8 reading their return policy, but I hate to throw good money after bad and order a new RBA if it turns out to be the tank.

Yes they certainly look fully drilled out so its possible that's not the issue. One thing I noticed on the deck that has issues is the top ring does not tread very nice. It takes several turns before I can get a thread and it screws on however it takes force rather than gliding smoothly like the other one. Upon closer inspection I can see the ring actually is not perfectly round and has a light bend in it. Once I finally get the ring screwed on the top cap also has a similar experience screwing down that covers the atomizer. I guess its possible a slight warp in the deck ring could be causing my issues.

Agreed, rma is the better choice. I've had mine for about 3 weeks and trying to get an rma for my istick from the same company bought at the same time so who knows if they'll rma this and the istick.

just chiming in;

I noticed my first sub mini will not take the glass from the newer one. Seems the newer one is barely a bit bigger, and the orings wont seal, even after chaning them. might be a fluke.

my first subtank mini didnt come with a rba (missing form the shop), but the new one came with the tan insulator and holes drilled straight through. Never had issues out of the rba other than the super tiny build deck =P I mean, I thought valkyrie was a challenge to build on, but this makes it even more interesting!

Mine has clear insulators!

I'm a Reo girl, but I also love my egrips - this deck is bigger than the RBAs for those LOL

Also figured this was a good place to show my modify air holes.

The air flow is way better now; close to the flow of the occ now.

I received my replacement rba deck today from sweet-vapes and have been using it the past few hours.and I can confirm it works perfectly just like my other subtank. Not a single dry hit so I can only conclude there was something wrong with the orginal rba deck as it would produce dry hits immediately by the 2nd pull and from then on constantly.

Really good to know! I filed out the channels a little on mine, and it did improve - but not perfect. Fortunately Elev8 offered to send me a replacement, so I'm looking forward to getting that one.

The Vendor I ordered the one with issues is also sending out a replacement however they asked for me to send back the old one first paying for shipping. That said, I did not want to wait 2 weeks so I just ordered a replacement as it was only 8 bucks. So in the end I will have an extra rba deck.

Someone in another thread had used a dremel to fix his channels and said it was working well . I used a diamond coated bead reamer (the dremel looked a bit drastic) and it's certainly working - but it still needs more. I can see that the bottom of my channels are wider than the top.

The Kanger Sub tanks stock coils are not BDC "bottom dual coils" they are OCC "organic cotton coils" and single, not duals :)
