**Disclosure - I am brand new at building my own coils**

Having issues with my Subtank Mini rba.

I am using Ni200 and have tried 2 & 28 gauge wire. On my Kangoor mini temp control mod I keep getting ohm and temp control alerts no matter what temp or watt settings.

Any recommendations on best gauge, number of wraps that would work or at least get me a starting point to have better success?

Thanks!

Again, all your help is much appreciated!

I would up the diameter of your coil a bit to 2,5mm or so, but your desired resistance basically isn't possible with that wire. I would recommend getting some 30g grade 1 Ti wire for that RBA if that's your desired resistance. 28 or 29g should also suffice though. I use 28g myself en get around a 0,5 ohm coil with 8ish wraps.

Ti is also a bit easier to work with as it doesn't distort the coil as easily as with nickel thus reduces the risk of you shorting the thing out when inserting your wick.

For more info and advice on building on this RBA I highly recommend this thread by the way: link

All I have right now is 26 & 28 Ni200 - If I want good results from my temp mod what would be a good target ohm?

And when you say -
"28 or 29g should also suffice though. I use 28g myself en get around a 0,5 ohm coil with 8ish wraps."
I am assuming your referring to Ti?

Also, what if I twisted my 26 gauge? Would that work better?
How do I find out the Inner Diameter of Coil?
i've never used ni wire, but i guess that would up the resistance and make it stiffer.

if you can measure the diameter of whatever you wind the coil on - that is your id. best bet is to buy a coil master jig if you are able as it makes things much easier

edit: oops, i was thinking backwards, two strands will LOWER the resistance, sorry....

Yes, ti is all I use :)

If you twist two strands together you're basically making a thicker wire in terms of resistance, so you are lowering the resistance of the wire which means you would need even more wraps to get to your desired value.

I love twisted coils for flavor and vapor production but it would not give the effect you're looking for right now unfortunately. Thinner wire is your solution, or settle for a lower resistance if you want to work with what you got.

0,8ohm will be difficult if not impossible for nickel though, as far as my knowledge of nickel coils goes anyways.
