I entered the vaping world on March 1 after 30+ years of 2-3 packs a week of Marlboro red 100's. I bought the eleaf 30w battery with the nautilus mini. Wonderful! Good taste a vapor production. It took a while to get used to the setup with various flavor juices. I use 18 nic. However, lately I've found that I've been sucking away on this to get a more satisfying hit. So, after much debate with myself I purchased the subtank min with the eleaf 50w battery. Another nice setup. But now I'm having trouble decding which unit is better. Does anyone have some pointers on how to decide? I'd hate to have one of these "go to waste". On the contrary (since the kanger came today, 7/24) what would the benfits be of having/using the two setups?

Use them both... nothing wrong with that. The Subtank is much more suited to lung hits and to producing tons of flavor and vapor while the Nautilus gives a much more satisfying mouth to lung hit with decent vapor and good flavor. Keep them both in your rotation and swap out as your mood suits you.

Northern NJ native , Coastal NC now.
But now I'm having trouble decding which unit is better.

There is no better , every individual has a different preference , i do not like any subtank because imo they mute the flavor , i like RBA's and run them under 20 watts , that to me gives superior flavor to everything else i have tried.

You just need to find your preference.

Depending on which coil you use in the Subtank you'll probably want to get juice with less nic content (I would suggest 6mg with the .5 coil). I have both tanks and use them both daily. I am still a mouth to lung vape with the subtank, I just got a cheap more restrictive drip tip and it works great. You'll probably be using twice as much juice in the Subtank as you did in the Nautilus, therefore ingesting more nicotine. I use the Nautilus in the mornings and evenings and the Subtank throughout the day.

You'll have to choose on or the other. The Subtanks are a warm vape while the Nautilus is cool, each one makes the juice taste a little different. The biggest thing is going to be that the Subtank will go through a lot more juice so you'll have to cut your nic down which is why you'll need to make a desicion. I was working down from 18 to 12 with my Nautilus, when I got my Subtank I had to go down to 6. I had bottles of all my juices in 0 nic so I wouldn't have any leftovers in my small collection so it was no big deal.

Not necessarily. I swap between my slew of Subtanks (all sizes, depending on the mod of choice) and my GS Air MS on an istick mini... both vape very differently, but both suit my needs. No need to limit yourself of label your style of vaping.

Like them both? Keep them both and use them both.

I try to use my Nautilus mini when I am home watching TV and tend to chain vape. And when I am out I use my Subtank mini and nano more. As somebody else already pointed out you are probably going to want to cut your nic level at least in half when sub-ohming. Good luck.

If you aren't rebuilding your coils, the Subtank nano is very similiarly sized to the Naut mini and holds more juice. It convinced me to go Subtank nano over nautilus mini, plus you can sub ohm on the Subtank if that's your thing.

You can subohm on your Nautilus if you've got the right mod and coils. Here's my Nautilus. Notice the resistance....

One 18650 battery won't get me from dawn to dusk. While 2x18650's will get me through the day there's disclaimer - if I use Nautilus tanks. The so called "subtanks" use 2-3x the juice and battery to power the. I normally rotate at least two setups. One usually has more nicotine than the other. One may have a 'all day cape' blend while the other has something different.

I'm currently camping. I brought 2x18650 replaceable mods (with tanks) one extra battery for each along with two different fixed battery backups (outfitted with their own tanks). Two are subohm TC setups, the other two are Nautilus setups.

So yes, unless your vamping habit if fairly light, you'll make use of old setups when your primary interests move to other setups. I have two "kits" of older stuff I lend out to friends who still use analogs.

Which is better? Personally I think they are made for different vaping styles and are difficult for direct comparison. One is "airy" with plenty of air flow available for most while the other is more restricted, low air/vapor flow.
While the STM's air flow can be turned down to Nautilus like draw, it also has a RBA option which can save the user a pile of $$$ over prebuilt store bought adamizers.

I like my Nautilus tanks but now have 3x STM and if given the choice between the two, my vote goes with the STM.

Is it harmful if i get the e-juice without nic in my mouth?
Everything except the nic in ejuice is FDA certified food grade, safe to consume and present in various food and medicinal products. The flavorings are in candy, baked goods, other foods. Propylene Glycol is in OTC medications such as Nyquil, and other consumable viscous liquids. Vegetable Glycerin is food grade and safe to consume.

Nicotine, in reasonable quantities, is also safe to ingest. NRTs such as nic lozenges and nic gum result in nic ingestion, and are sold OTC because they are considered safe. I personally rub 24mg nic juice on my lips when I can't vape, rather than expensive nic gum or lozenges.
