Has anyone build a vertical coil on this been thinking about it but limited on kanthal atm, and don't want to try it unless its decently good.
You'll have more airflow than with a horizontal coil, it works fine. Just make sure you don't make it too call and check it on an ohmmeter before firing.

Thanks I just made a .5 24g coil to do it with and def works great, but cant decide if its better then a horizontal coil or not.

I get a buncha spitback from vertical (if chimney is what you're talking about). maybe I need to stuff more cotton and not have so much loose juice in the wicking.

Is that a picture of a clapon coil on the subtank deck on your avatar. I keep thinking of building one but i like to keep my subtank on my dna30 and it wont fire under .5. And correct me if Im wrong clapton coils go super low in ohms.

Yeah it was from a while back, it was so big it made contact with the chimney when i screw it on fully, but worked if i left it a bit looser. The DNA30 has a maximum low of .5, so thats why it wont fire. This coil was a bit lower than that and I threw it on a mech so I had no issues with power delivery, it wanted like 55 watts for a decent vape.

Yeah I like to use the mech for the plume veil, just regualr old 24g coils seem to be working great for me, I just ordered some nichrome cant wait to get that in the subtank and see how it is

Definitely agree with a simple 24g build, always like to do that or 26 (if i want to use it with the tightest draw airhole). I also prefer spaced coils than micro contact coils for the sake of flavor, grown bored with just massive clouds.

I have a bunch of RTAs nearing the $200 mark each, but this thing is my favorite because of ease of build and so many options. I like that I can take a flavor high gauge build as well as a 24 gauge build and not have wicking issues which is more than I can say for these other high end RTA's (aside from build quality and a protruding 510 pin, they got nothing on the subtank mini). What will be even more cool is when they start selling the RBA and coils found on the Kbox version (CANNOT WAIT FOR THAT).
