To get above 30w you would need the newer upgraded Vertical Subtank coils (VOCC) heads, which some of those are rated up to 70watts I believe, the horizontal OCC heads are lower rating due to air flow and wicking ability, so have to trial and error if you can get them up higher. The RBA deck I have one built, V1 RBA, using 26awg wire at 0.45 I've taken up to 50watts, but it can only wick fast enough for about 3 to 4 hits before the vape gets a bit dry and anemic. Got 2 of the new V2 RBA decks shipping in that should be able to handle juice wicking a bit better.

I just built my first coil in my subtank the coil already came pre wound on the rda all I really had to do was put the cotton through which I watched a YouTube video and did it step by step taking my time. I've let it prime and it seems that I'm getting a very burnt and hot hit running at 27w
So turn down the power.

I did. It's now running at 20w and the flavor still tastes burnt. I'm not sure if the 2 coils it came with just aren't that good. The issue I'm running into is when I purchased it I purchased it because the vertical coils ran high watts but the rep at the gape shop didn't tell me they don't sell the vertical coils anywhere in my area so I feel conned at this point because that first coil it came with vaped amazing and had amazing taste. The .5 horizontal coils imo are terrible they burn out quick and I can't run them over 30w so at this point I'm just upset that I spent money on this thing

I believe you can order the VOCC coils online. I only use the RBA with my Subtank, and even with the RBA, I stay below 30/watts. Is there a reason you're so obsessed with vaping at a set wattage vs what works and tastes better? Did you dry burn/pulse your coil? There are many methods of wicking, maybe try a different method?

This is exactly why I come to these forums before I do anything. If I didn't I would have primed up the .5 coil and toasted it instantly on my regular 43w setting. From what I have been seeing tonight, the best wattage seems to be in the low 20s anything more gives off a burnt taste. Won't know for sure until I try for myself later tonight
