Got a kanger Subvod couple days ago and I thought after charging my meter read it at 3.7V. TOday I charged it, I took it off charge to check volts and it was 4.24 on meter.

My question is the meter reading should show the volt output when tank is put on, right? The Subvod specs say output is 3.7v so is there something wrong with the battery. ALso specs say 500ma charger, the adapter I used says output 500ma

I did go to the kanger site and check the code on the box and it said it was authentic.

3.7 is the "nominal" voltage for the batteries we use, which is a fancy way of saying "what it is 'most of the time.'" In reality, the charge state varies from around 4.2v at full charge, down to around 3-3.2v when they will need to be recharged. But, after charging, that 4.2v drops very quickly down to the nominal 3.7v, and then stays there for a very long time before it starts to dip down further. Then, once it does start to dip below 3.7v, it again starts to drop more quickly.

Also, output voltage and battery charge state are not necessarily the same thing. I'm not familiar with the SubVod device, but many of our vaporizers are regulated with buck/boost circuitry to output a certain voltage (and 3.7v is a popular choice) regardless of the battery's charge state.

I didn't mention that it wasn't fully charged when I tested and got 4.24v, don't know how much higher it would have gone.

The subvod to me is just a battery with no wt/vt/amp adjustments but it can run a tank w/coil as low as .4ohms. I don't know if its the first of its kind that can run a subohm coil.

The TopTank Nano that came with it has a SSOCC 1ohm coil. My main concern was I didn't want to harm the battery or the coil. I have taken about 7-8 puffs and it has dropped to 4.13ohms so I guess you R right. Unlike my EGO II standard batter which will stay around 4.17 for a while.
