With my new short wick coils, I just rinse them off in boiling water and use them. What do you do with your new coils?
Same thing ricks. I had a bad experiance the first time replacing a head when i DIDN'T clean the new head.

Actually I prefer the old cup wicks as they are more consistent, with the longer wicks I'm often getting a 'near to burnt' hit about every 5-10 draws.

I have had good luck with all the long wick so far, but I would buy the short wick also. Does anybody still sell short wick?

I figure if the long wicks don't work well, I could simply cut them short. I took one apart once and it looks easy to rebuild. That's why I'm saving all my old ones. Just in case they stop selling them. They are still the cheapest coils out there. I don't see any better way to vape other than T2's today.

Kanger should include paper towels with the T-2 tanks. Filling mine seems to accelerate the leaking, so I must be pushing liquid into the hole somehow. I'm certainly not filling through the center hole. My work-around is not filling too much. 3/4 tank seems to reduce the leaking. When I filled too much and the leaking started, I dis-assembled, made a point out of paper towel and shoved into both the battery and t-2 ends where they meet. Eventually, I got no gurgling, no leaks.

I haven't said "Carton marlboro lights, in a box" in a solid month.

I never fill past the 2ml mark. Before I refill mine, I blow thru the mouth piece with a piece of paper towel at the battery end to make sure its clear also.

Sometimes while vaping, you can build up some condensation (or something) in the mouth piece that can run sown the center tube. I use a small piece of paper towel and roll it up to dry that up.
Using Highbrow Exotic tobacco. I filled, blew out the center onto a towel. This hasn't leaked yet! Not a gurgle, is it possible that certain juices leak? Either that or clearing the tube after filling is the solution.

I´ll try rewicking one with cotton. It's as if the wicks get worn and let more liquid in resulting in gurgling. I'm keeping the last two heads for emergencies.

I'm about to give up on the T-2. I read the T-3 isn't a leaker, can anyone verify that?

2-10-2013: Read about the T-3, it's a leaker, too. I've only filled the T-2 1/4-1/3 full, so far no juice on the bat. contact. I'm turning the unit horizontal, rolling it to wet the wick. My AZsmokefree bud said they all leak. I'm think that any post that claims "no leaks" must have just taken it from the package. I've got 4 new, all leaK.

2-10-2013, TWO HOURS LATER: no leaks! That's it, fill 'em 1/4-1/3 full, don't let the juice get anywhere close to the coil/post.

Final post on the "leakers". I think the juice gets to the coil i.d. by filling, so I removed the coil, then filled. I watched the juice run down the tank wall, careful not to direct anything to the inside post. I've only had to dry once.

I looked at 30 pages, trying to find a non-leaker alternative to the Kanger T-2. I wanted to buy from goodejuice so I can include their Patriot tobacco, which I haven't yet tried. They have the CE4 and CE4 plus, EGO E-2 and EGO-T clearomizer. Tell me what to do, I'm desperate.

Even better than that: bought three 5 packs of 1.8 ohm coils from my bud at azsmokefree.com. The k-2 tanks I've had for a month came alive! $1.60 a piece, shipping included. When these suckers start leaking or reduce in performance, I'm switching to a new coil.
I compared a new coil to a used one, it looks like the wick frays after some use, thus letting juice through that opening.
I made one up for my wife who was using the CE4 (quit after two weeks), she said "finally, some smoke"...........

I've spent a lot of time working with the Kanger T-2. Through ECF posts, trial and error I've solved the leaks:

KEEP IT FILLED!! The other posts are right, when they get low, there is too much "air space" in the tank, it draws liquid into the tube faster. They need to stay at least 1/2 full.
Keep new coils on hand: they are $1.60/ea. at ecigarettes | electronic Cigarettes | e-liquid. When it draws too much liquid in the tube, or they just don't perform like new, swap out for a new coil. I rinse the old ones, save for another time. I have never had one completely quit working, they just degreade in performance.
OF COURSE: Rinse occasionally, keep all threads and caps snug, keep them standing upright to reduce the chance of liquid seeping through the coil when lying horizontial.
Keeping them mostly filled seemed to be the best tip, the leaking started when the juice was low.
A friend was told "press the button a second or two prior to taking a hit, that burns off alittle juice", and "draw slow, don't overpower the tank with a big vacuum hit". I don't know about the button press, but a slower hit helped a little.

They seem to overwick the juice a lot. They have that giant overwick space. It makes the flavor funny cause its flooded/soaked. I think that's why it leaks so much. I haven't found the best way to get these leak free yet. Yeah the carto material thing did not work so well, or at all, at least for me. Only thing that halos to to keep it standing upright at all times.

I never lay them down. They are always "standing". I've used the above theory two days; I heard the gurgling once (the level got low). When I first got the T-2, being the miser I am, I'd run it down to nothing. LEAK, LEAK, LEAK. Keep it filled, no leaks.

I then got two T-3's: the juice poured out. Low fluid!! Keep 'em filled, problem solved. I should say that when I fill (T-2 and T-3), I keep the fluid level about 1/8" below the post (keep it away from the wick/coil holes).
I've read about the vision mini nova, so I bought two for my wife. I cannot get them to work anywhere near the Kangers. She ends up using my Kangers. I bought a 5 pack of the vision coils. After low performance I replaced one with a new coil. Great hit for a day, then back to "puny".

I would probably have given up on the Kangers if it weren't for the great advice of the ECF forum. Thanks amigos!!!!!!!!!!!!

I seem to have figured out what's causing the excessive leaking on my T2's. I have the long wick v3's (from UK E-Cig Store Electronic Cigarettes).

When it starts to leak, you might notice that draw gets tighter and the mouthpiece gets hotter as you vape. Sometime this is caused by juice filling the center post, and a good blow out will clear the air path, but sometimes it's caused by the battery connector wires inside the base obstructing air flow. Over time, as you screw the device on and off your battery, the center post presumably rotates causing the wires to move about inside, sometimes they get in the way turning it in to a juice straw.

Disassemble the unit, rinse it out and dry thoroughly as normal, and without screwing a head on, look through the hole in the center post against a bright background. You might see a cable in the way. If so, stick a syringe needle down the post from the top down (head end), and nudge the wire(s) out of the way. At this point you should be able to see straight through without anything blocking the way. Re-assemble, re-fill, and vape. You'll probably get a bit of leaking at first due to the wet wicks, but this will stop after a few minutes, and your airflow should be much improved.

I've only been vaping for a couple months and my tanks are either T2s or CE7s. The T2s so far have been utterly reliable, and I've only needed to replace one head. None of them have ever leaked. On the other hand, the CE7s constantly leak and gurgle, are difficult to clean, hard to fill and it's a pain to have to keep tipping them up to wet the wick. There may be better clearos out there, but so far I vote for T2 all the way!

EDIT: I notice several folks recommending that you never lay them horizontally. I haven't found this to be an issue with the T2s. With the CE7s it is a necessity. With my CE7s, I just have accepted that it's gonna gurgle. I love my T2s - just bought a couple new ones and some replacement heads because I figure they won't last forever....but so far my original, 2-month-old ones are working great!
