When I started using my new Kanger T2 last week, I got the longer wick coils with the 2 of them. These wicks are like 1/2" long on either side, and there are like 3 of them on each side. But now that I look them up again, I see these other ones that have these tiny wicks, but there is also a 'cup' that circles the stem of the outside of the coil unit, which I believe catches the juice and funnels it into the coil.

Are the short wick coils the newer design, or are they the older design, and which works better?

I think the short wicks came out first. They had a juice catch cup just below the little short wicks that held the juice up there longer after the device was tipped. Then out came the longer wicks because people don't like moving their PV; guess they'd rather move their heads around???? But the little juice cup no longer was there.

Anyway, it's personal preference. Whichever way works best for you. If you have the short wick versions, after they are kaputz remember to save the silicone top cap, the metal sleeve and the juice catch cup; if you rebuild, save it all. If you get the long wicks and don't like them as well, you can always trim them off and put a catch cup on the bottom and make a short out of a long wick.

I actually prefer the shorter wick, just out to the wall of the tank. The way I vape it doesn't matter about tipping, and I think the shorter wicks just perform better for me.

Yeah, its a bit confusing because one store advertised that they had the "new" long wick version, and another store advertised they had the "new" short wick version! Another store shows a picture of the short wick version, then sends you the long wick version! I have gotten 2 Kanger T2 with 2 - 5 packs of extra coils in 1.8ohm and 2.2 ohm. I have to do some tipping or I get dry, burnt taste fairly quickly some times. In fact, just now I took the whole thing apart and cleaned it all out, including rinsing out the coil, which was just replaced yesterday because it has a burnt taste that has been continuous for over an hour now, even though the tank has been 50-80% full, and I've been tipping it horizontal.

Be careful of your voltage, and I have noticed, your vaping habits. On vaping habits, you can control the heat in the coil to prevent the burnt taste by drawing harder or softer when you take a hit. If the coil is running on the hot side, draw faster to get more air over the coil; this will prevent overheating and burning. If on the cool side, such as on an ego battery, you can slow down the draw to keep more heat in the coil.

With a freshly charged battery, if you put 4.2 volts across a 1.8 ohm coil you will be producing 9.8 watts! A slow draw will probably allow your juice to burn. Even on the 2.2 ohm coil, you will produce a full 8 watts. These power levels are generally considered to be at the top end of what clearos should be run.

The 1.8 ohm versions actually run pretty good on the simple ego, at 3.3 volts. Even at this voltage, they manage 6 watts on that top coil which is quite good.

I agree, the Kanger t2 [1.8 ohm] works great for me on a standard battery. Got the Twist and don't need it.

I started out with the short wick, bought 2 from Vapingme, and loved it. The replacement heads were long wick and i cut them down to short wick with the cup and it was horrible, burning,.... that's how i found they needed cleaned first.......no problems since. Ive placed 3 orders since Sept for more T2 and replcement heads, from 3 venders, and only long wicks that i see. Kanger has a slight change on the T2 and Vision has made a copy. Still have the other, unused short wick T2.

I am still a bit of a beginner and cannot fully understand the different ohms. I have standard ego batteries and don't know which ohms to order - some people say it is personal preference but there must be a consensus. If it helps, mostly I like coffee, butterscotch, honey sort of flavours - also I love fruit flavours but they all seem too sweet to me, I like them fruity - any recommendations gratefully received.

Second and final problem - I wouldn't know what a coil looked like if it came up and bit me in the face so could someone please tell me how to change the wick on the t2s and t3s.

Many thanks - sorry to be a pest.
