tnt56, the T3 is being replaced with the T3S. Anyone with T3s can simply buy a T3S base and replacement coils to use on their original T3 tanks. The new T3S is basically a 3 piece design instead of 2. So when your coil goes bad you just unscrew the coil from base and replace whereas with the old design, the base and coil had to be replaced. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I just wanted to confirm the rumor before I had to start telling customers the bad news. Kinda sad. I like my T3's. and really don't want to buy anymore goodies for a while.

As stated earlier it's not bad news. This is a vast improvement for the user for two reasons

1 Cheaper replacement coils for those that don't rebuild.
2 Better draw with the 2 piece base/coil. At least this is my observation.

Edit: #3 IF you do rebuild like I do it's much easier on the new (PT / Evod) style head because you're not trying to get the insulator back in the shaft while working inside the confines of the base.

While I understand all this. (I rebuild also). Some people are on a Very limited budget. And can't afford to replace items when the manufacturer stops production on something. Just the way life is for some.

Using one cost reference source, at more than .50 cents per coil savings, the money they save on a 5 pack of coils more than pays for a separate base.

Uh-oh. Not a fan of change. Hope this works out. They will still make 1.8 Ohm, I hope?

Absolutely, I bought a blister pack of 5 1.8Ω coil and a base from Sun-Vapers for $8.99 in June. Evod and Protank coils work in the T3S base flawlessly although Kanger isn't claiming backwards compatibility for them as far as I know.

Unfortunately some people just can't or won't rebuild. Many have a physical limitation as to what they are capable of. Others are just to lazy. But as always I'll try and figure something out to help them.

For me it's a case of can't rebuild because of arthritic hands - but - even if I could, I don't think I would because I am not looking for a new hobby. I'm retired but I have enough on my plate already. I'm just looking for the simplest way to enjoy vaping which, for me, has been a means of getting away from the stinky analogs that I have used all my life.

I have a local shop where I can get a T3S clearo for $4.95 with a 5 pack of heads for $5.95 plus tax. If I had to replace the head every 2 weeks - that's a 3 month supply of vaping hardware for 12 bucks. When I throw in the cost of the juice, I am probably spending around $25 per month to feed my nicotine habit. When I compare that to the $75 to $100 per month that I used to spend on the stinkies, I'm clearly ahead of the game both monetarily and healthwise.

I'm certainly not knocking the folks out there that get enjoyment out of rebuilding their vaping hardware - I fully understand the satisfaction they would gain from doing it, but it's just not for me. And I'm pretty sure there is a large majority of vapers that feel the same way.

I can say that the evod coils I have do not fit fully on the T3S as the lipof the coil is a touch larger in diameter. The T3S coils Do fit the evod though.

I heard that Kanger is not making any more T3's. Being replaced by the T3S. Is this true. I hope not. Lots of folks have the T3's.

Unfortunately they are being phased out in favor of the T3s. But you can buy a T3s base and use the atomizer heads which are cheaper than the T3 base/atomizer. You can get them here for example:

Kanger T3S eGo Bottom Base (No Head) - EVcigarettes.com

I bought them for my T3's and they work great!

For anyone wondering what we are talking about here's another example: Kanger T3/MT3 Coil Upgrade - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes Sold out at MBV right now but complete description with pictures.

This is no big deal. The existing T3 tubes are not obsolete. You buy a new base once. After that the replacement coils cost less and/or are easier to rebuild than the original 1 piece assembly. I see nothing but wins here. I hate to throw out the car with the ash tray.
