Hey guys!
lurker here.. Just quit cigs for good. I broke my smok NBC tank and am stuck on a CE4 (or CE5) Replaceable wick tank. Ive swapped many wicks but i cant seem to get the juice to flow. I cut out a small triangle in the plastic and tried a few other things but nothing seems to absorb onto the coil. even when dry burning it doesnt dry off it only burns from the top. As for the TS3 any wick i use seems to make it gurgle.
grr
Help appreciated!
Thank you :)

Can't help with the ce5 as it's been too long since I've used them.

Leaks from kanger bcc are usually caused by gaps where the main wick and flavor wicks are.

Take off the base and look at the area where the main wick and flavor wicks are. There should not be any gaps. The wicks should seal up the gaps. If there are, you can add some cotton/silica as flavor wicks to seal the gaps.

I prefer to use ekowool as the flavor wicks as it keeps its position better. With silica, there is a tendency for it to be drawn out of position, creating gaps and leading to leaks.

I have a Kanger t3S and unfortunately the store I buy my supplies from just ran out of that tank. Kanger's website says they are shut down till Feb, 10 and not to order till then. So I talked to one of my co-workers about options for replacing my wick. He suggested (out of personal experience) to use cotton from a cue tip. Well I sat down today and started the process and within an hour replaced two wicks for two different tanks. Great right? uh ... maybe, it now has a funny taste, I am not sure if it is due to the cotton, or from being from a cue tip. Now when I say funny taste I am generalizing a burning cotton taste. It is not overly abundant but is noticeable.

So my question to anyone who does in home repairs, what would or do you use for a wick on a bottom coil clearomizer?

I'd also forgot to mention that while vaping the coil area of the tank gets very warm. It gets hot if I vape a lot. Is this normal. Again I'm using a kanger t3s and have cotton as a wick. It got hot before the wick change. I have a double wick. One that goes through the coil and the other than lays on top of that wick.

When I was on CE4's they would give me a burnt taste just for looking at them. Really a lot depends on the wicking system vs. the juice you use and your vaping style. I've found top-wicking setups like the CE4 are just never going to work for me. Bottom-feeders like the T3, clear sailing. On the other hand, some people have horrible flooding issues with the bottom feeders that I just don't get.

That was a long way of saying, CE4s and you might just not be cut out for each other.

I just picked up a couple of T3S's today. I filled one and it was vaping great for 1/2 of a tank and then it started gurgling and leaking into the batt. I took the coil out, popped the chimney off of it and put 1 piece of 1mm silica flvor wick in it after removing the old one. re-assembled and it leaked even worse. I took the coil out, removed the chimney and put 2 x 1mm flavor wicks in. I re-assembled and after cleaning the center tube out with a pipe cleaner, I tried again. So far, it's working just fine. We'll see when I get down to 1/2 tank again.

So, you took the wick out of the coil itself and replaced with cotton or just the flavor wick?? I've had no luck with cotton anywhere, tastes really funky to me. I use 1mm silica wick and don't have any problem with it. Most of the cotton users I've read about boil it first to get whatever chemicals out that might be there from processing.

I replaced both with cotton. It does have a funky taste but for a spare of the moment thing it is working. Where can I buy this silica and cotton wool? I'd like to try both. And does anyone know if you actually replace the coil it self. As if I were to buy new wire and wrap my own. (I only ask because my co-worker says you can on his one tank and the company who he purchased his wire off of screwed up and is doubling his order and planning on giving me the other half)

Boil it first? That actually might be a really good idea. But I'd probably want to buy a bag of cotton instead of using cue tip. Idk. Deff want to find ways to make this cheaper than it is now.

I saved used attys from my Vivi Novas and cut the wicks the length of the BCC wick on the T3S and simply lay it on top of the original coil wick. Helps to stop gurgling and gives new life to the atty before having to chuck it early.

Also, I found that my gurgling was from me drawing too hard on it forcing extra liquid into the coil chamber.

This is probably nothing new to vet vapers, just adding my own newbie observations.

I think something's hinky with one of the tanks. It started leaking after 1/2 tank, redid coil, vaped 1/3 tank, more leaking, put in new coil, another 1/3 tank and more leaking. The other R3S is working just fine, 2 tanks used and no leaking at all. Maybe the B & M will replace it. They just opened and might want to make a good impression.
