Life of the CE4 etc.

I been trying out different CE4 (short wick, long wick and invisible wick) and my conclusion on the 3 is as follows:

Invisible wick- can not use a VG dominate juice, gurgles very easy with PG dom. juice, burnt flavor after a short use.

Long wick- Again, can not use a VG dominate juice, PG dominate does great, last longer than Inv. wick, burnt taste after 2 weeks mark.

Short wick- And Again can not use VG dominate juice, Last longer the both IW & LW, must maintain a mostly full cart, burnt taste around 2-3 weeks.

Cleaning of any (dry burning,) sucks. They will not work as good. Even, cleaning by water method sucks. Seems it's always a gamble with them. However they (at first) work great! They look better (with eGo battery) then anything else, which I'm all about looks of my device.

Over all, IMO, not worth it (for now) until someone re-designs it to preform better and last longer.

Have you tried the Phoenix bottom coil yet? Mine have been working perfectly for a couple of weeks now. They still don't like thick juice, but 70/30 PG/VG is working great.

some VG juices are not as viscous as others.

I use good prophets (several different flavors) in both the long wick 1.6ml's and a 2.4ml CC and have no wicking issues at all. well - actually one of my 1.6's tends to over wick and i get a little flooding. as for cleaning / dry burning / whatever - i haven't messed with it. the one i am vaping right now has been going for 4 weeks, and it is one of my heavy rotation devices.

ed: i find my "trick" is to hit the button about half a second before i start drawing - like as i am putting the tip to my lips, i have jut pressed the button, and i don't start to pull until i hear the sizzle ... YMMV

You would be surprised by what a couple of drops of distilled water does for VG juices.

Hi Icon, thanks for the sharing. I thought I was just having a real short life CE4. I was using 100% PG for 5 days and switched to 30 70 vg pg. The CE4 developed a burnt taste within a couple of days.

Luckily I had a Smoktech DCT which arrived just as things got choky. Been using the ego twist vv with this DCT now for about 10 days now.

Just noticed the little overflow I get at the bottom occasionally is really dark in colour compared to the normal juice colour. Guess another burn is on the way.....

If you have the time, try rebuilding the CE4 so that you can get what you want out of it.. the wicking of the clearo is the same as the CE2(predecessor)... you might want to tilt it to help with the wicking...

Well, the Phoenix looks great on my stainless steel eGo and E-power. There's no wick visible, just a stainless steel tube in the center of a clear plastic tube.
