Is it normal for my Kanger Protank Mini 2 to have a burnt taste after 2-3 drags? I've tried loosening the ring and it helps .... the only real solution i've found is to suck on the clearomizer without pressing the button before taking another drag. Is there a better way or a better clearomizer / atomizer to use?

Need a little more info. What's the pv/vg ratio of your juice? High/all VG is thicker and may need to be thinned with a little distilled water to wick correctly. Are you chain vaping? The wick may not be able to keep up. What voltage/wattage are you using? Some juices burn easier than others and need a lower voltage. Lots of possibilities there.

If it's a poor wicking situation because of a high VG juice you can remove the "flavor wicks" from on top of the coil to help it wick faster. Also burning the juice in the coil can cause the rest of the juice in the tank to taste burnt.

Pin - rubber/silicone grommet - head - coil - flavor wicks - top tube (chimney) - upper silicone seal

Simply pop off the top tube and remove one, two or all of the loose flavor wicks to (sometimes) cure wicking problems.

Hey thanks for the answers. I usually use 50/50 liquid. And i wasn't chain vaping. With the protank 2 it would've been impossible because depending on the tank in particular i would only be able to get about 5 seconds of vaping before it burns. Although i did have at least one protank 2 which allowed me to vape for 5 seconds possibly half a dozen times in a row. So it seems that there is just some inconsistency in the product quality.

I recently upgraded to the new aerotank and i haven't a single issue. Taste is perfect, never any burn.

Btsmokincat, thanks for the tip. I am probably going to give my protank 2s to friends and/or family so i might try that. But how do i take it apart? Do i need certain tools?

No you can take them apart with your hands (make sure you use a tissue if its got juice on it).. Take off the seal and check out where the tube connects to the head. From here you just wanna carefully 'wiggle' it back and forth and pry it out kinda like you were snapping a pencil in half.

I think I read here that Kanger has an 'improved' version of their coils out now and people cant get those apart without destroying em for the most part. I got lucky my Evod kit has all the 'old style' so Ive been cleaning em and even rewicked a couple with cotton..
