Hi all.
Brought a kangertech subox mini 3 days ago and have the 1.5ohm coil in there with it running at8 watts and for the first couple of days the taste was amazing, however now I just get a horrible burnt taste with the odd nice taste. I am gonna go and get another juice tomorrow for the .5ohm burner and give it a go. The juice I currently am using is pg 80% and vg 20% with a 16mg nic from the shop. Will this make any difference? Obviously with the .5ohm burner I will have a much lower nic level.
Thanks.

Welcome @Robert Worsdell

The atomizer (burner?) you use is up to your individual choice.

8 watts is low power vaping and I would not recommend trying that with a 0.5ohm coil. I did it once (I had the flu) and the experience wasn't great.
Also, 80% PG is thin liquid and the more powerful atomizers are designed to encourage more juice flow/wicking so thin liquid could lead to problems.
Your Kanger box mod lets you set the power, so using lower strength nicotine liquid would normally be recommended as you increase power, not just lower the resistance of the coil.
For example, if you were vaping the 1.5ohm coil at 10w and suggested using a 0.5ohm coil at 20w then you might well (probably will) want to drop your Nicotine level. Some might say half, others might say go down from 18mg to 12mg or 12 to 6.
12mg to 6mg is a big step. I am gradually using up all my 6mg as I find I need to vape it at 30w. I prefer to vape at around 15w, so find the 12mg works better for me.
Other people might do the opposite. They might enjoy vaping 6mg or even 3mg (and get enough Nicotine) by vaping at 30, 50, 75, 100 watts.... whatever works for them.

As for the taste issue... coils (atomizers/burners) last anything from a few days to a few weeks. It seems unlikely you have already finished it off (3 days) so maybe there is something else going on.. hard to say. :)

You also have an rba with the Subbox. It should be already coiled with a .5 ohm coil, just needs wicked to use and you should also have gotten some cotton with the gear. Check out a couple you tubes on the rba for the Subtank Mini and see how easy it is to use. Once you learn how to re coil and wick the rba you'll leave the factory coils behind (rba use is easy and cheap).

Every time I had to replace a factory coil I was saying it's $3 down the drain, the rba cost to use is pennies after you get started.
