I've only been using this for 5 days (new to vaping) I am using this with iStick 30W,

Fitted the 0.5 coil which already had the cotton in, put a few drops of e-juice zero nicotine on the coil and filled the tank with juice let it sink in for around 30 minutes.

The airway is full open and have been getting really harsh hits. This is the second time i have filled the tank the first time was completely fine.

Any ideas?

You don't mention what watts you have the istick set at? Typically when starting with a new coil I always prime the coil first as you did, then I take a few pulls through the mouthpiece without firing the device. This also helps to make sure the coil & wick is primed. Then let it sit for a few minutes before I actually vape. I also usually start at a low wattage on the device to make sure I don't burn the wick before it's had a chance to break in. Once I see that I can take a few vapes and it's working ok, I then keep upping the watts on my device and test until I'm at the range I'm happy with. Hope this helps.

1st i heard of a wicked coil for the rba when new.
a 0.5 coil w/out wick should be already screwed/mounted on the rba when new

yeah, its only a coil without wick. So, my question to you is .. should we put enough cotton just to sit gently into the chimney without really blocking the juice channels ? I mean just enough cotton to touch the base without being thickset into it right?

lots of info and pics in this thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/clearomizers/644323-kangertech-subtank-mini.html

short answer, kgd remove both skins, thick through the coil(thicker is better) and optionally slightly thinned tail/ends cut on an angle, ends just touching deck, juice channels clear.

I am asking normally .. not because of everyone taste but normally or if you want call it technically .. so single coil at 0.5 will be good at around 15-30 watts right? but if its dual 0.5 then we can even increase the wattage, is that correct ?

Start at 10watts and go up from there
Depending on what juice your using the wattage will be different some will burn at 10 watts and some will go to 50 watts or more

Yes, 15watts is a good starting point. Work your way up from there if you like. I run as low as 12w and as high as 20w. Seems like most users stay under 25watts on the occ coil even though it's rated to 30w.

I had some partial success tonight. I rebuilt both OCCs using 7 to 8 wraps of 26G coming in at 1 and 1.2 ohms. One was spaced and built on a 6-32 machine screw, the other a micro coil built on a screwdriver. I wicked both tightly with rayon.
I can out run the wicking with 8 long pulls back to back which is much faster than I ever vape. The exciting part is no juice on the tongue! I'm getting better flavor with the spaced coil, but a softer vape with the micro. I'm happy with both.
I widened the channels on the RBA and an getting fewer dry hits but whenever it isn't dry is just spraying my tongue with juice. I had that with the installed coil and all have it with a smaller micro coil. Other than cutting a circle of steel mesh to stick under the drip tip I'm out of ideas for that.
Someone really needs to make a heat resistant grommet for the OCCs.
