So I just ordered a 100 ft 31ga Kanthal for $8 shipped. I recently switched from 32ga to 30ga to use with silica on drippers for my VAMO. I liked the jump in taste and the more stable thicker wire but missed how more responsive the thinner wire was and wanted a little more resistance to my coils. Figured the 31ga should work pretty well.

Anyone else use 31ga and favor it? I know it's not mentioned nearly as much as 30ga and 32ga, is that only because it's not as easy to find or is their another reason 31ga rarely gets used?

I think the odd numbered gauges are less common (or at least the topic of less discussion) but having having them in the tool box definitely gives you more build options. I think 29 awg would be another good one to have on hand...

Definately. There is more of a jump in different from two even numbers than I expected. The 30ga is quite a bit thicker and has a lot less resistance than the 32ga. I couldn't find ecig vendors that carry the odd numbered gauges, but it was pretty easy to find a large spool for cheap on ebay.

Yeah. That is a good price. Seems about the same as at the website (once you add in website shipping)

Yeah, tiny bit cheaper directly at the website. For some reason I couldn't find any 31 gauge at the website last night, only through them at ebay, but didn't look in the right section. I'll probably get all my wire from them now that I'm more comfortable buying the larger spools.

Just needs to be redone one I'm home. It's a little loose...
But not bad for being that it the first attempt and the fact that I'm nowhere near my tools.
