I have been using Kanthal A1 32 AWG wire for my atomizer coils. Recently its been very hard to find and I am almost out. I found a vendor on e-bay that has Kanthal A 32 AWG. Is this the same as Kanthal A1? Does it make any difference? Thanks.

I actually looked it up and it is fine to use. It has the almost the same properties as A-1, but a little less aluminum in the metal composition. It will work fine.

I got a roll of that and a roll of 33ga Kanthal A, so I am gonna try them both and hand off the roll I don't want.

Just made my first coil with 32-A in the GTUS...
Using 7 windings at 2.6 ohms
best coil Ive ever made... (I also made 3 coils with A-1 this last weekend) Been honkin on it for two days, still rock solid at 2.6.

I have to say I am liking the Kanthal-A a bit better than the A-1. Granted it isn't an apples to apples comparison because the A-1 I have is 32ga, but the A is 33ga, but still.
Does anyone have a source for Kanthal A-1 34 AWG?

You should be able to get A1 fairly easy. The APM is expensive and hard to find. Its not made like other wire...its made by sintering powdered metal...basically its "built" by tiny globs of molten metal. For our use it wouldnt be worth the cost even if you could find some.

For e-cigarette purposes kanthal A and A1 are equal. Very small physical differencies not sufficient for e-cigs. Just use a wire you can buy.
