Can it really be almost 2 months since I wrote this?

I can tell you, dear friends, that my first attempt at tank filling was about as messy & accident ridden as my first attempt at filling my own cartomizers...
Let's just say I also had to apply the information from the tutorial about 'topping up' immediately, and I am glad I was not using a favourite battery for the experiment. Also glad I had a stack of paper towel nearby.

...I can see the attraction of tanks for chain-vapers of 1 or 2 flavours, like myself. Instead of having to fill heaps of cartos, clean them & refill, this is just one thing to fill, clean & refill. Once I get the hang of it, I am sure it will be less messy. ..
It's just so ugly though! So out of proportion for an elegant KR808D, this large protruberance with icky looking liquid glooping around. That, and I am not a fan of Manual batteries. It's something I might use on a quiet day at home, like today, when no-one else will see it. I'll also be hiding it away in my desk for when my DH & DD get home (DH is rather scathing of the whole vaping thing, he thinks it's absurd, so the tank would really annoy him)...

In true Katz fashion, I have a drawer of blank & pre-filled cartomizers that hardly ever are touched these days. Tanks rule my vaping world !

My tanks are filled & re-filled throughout the day. Hardly ever a mess (note I said hardly ever ) True to form, the cartomizers don't last as long for me as they seem to for others, but I can live with it. Instead of getting through up to 10 cartos a day that then needed washing, drying & re-filling, I have 4 tanks in use and the cartos last maybe 5 days like that, then I toss them. (only using 2 flavours, the only reason for 4 tanks is I can't bring myself to use the 6ml tanks (yet) so I like to have 2 tanks of each flavour on the go). This has revolutionised my vaping habits & routine, made things much easier. Early problems with seating the carto in the tank were with the black plastic cap tanks - the metal cap ones don't have a specific alignment, so no more problems with that. Had my first carto 'gurgle' & die. Had my first tank leakage as a result of a dead carto - yes, just the one leakage!!!
I still think the tanks are ugly. I haven't used the 6ml tanks because I think they'll look even uglier (note that I do have 3 x 6ml tanks )
1.5ohm cartos - they give me what I want. Did try the 2ohm but they don't do it for me.
I use XL manual batteries - I was hitherto a fan of the autos, especially the shorties. I've adapted to the manuals - while I'd still prefer not to have to press a button, they give a better result with the tanks.
For a while there I still took auto batteries & regular cartomizers when going in the car etc, but lately I've just grabbed a battery+tank & spare battery when leaving the house. So much easier.

Oh, I was right; DH was scathing about the tanks - for a while he did not comment, but when he did, whoa! He hates them.

So there you go, after 2 months, tanks are my vaping nirvana. Next stop? Is that a vv I see before me in my crystal ball ....

Remember, Never say Never - just say not yet....

You give me hope, Katz. I'm so hung up on my batts and cartos...I have taken my time about moving up to anything new. But, I finally DID get into the Ego and do like it. I have a couple of tanks and the carts for them, so I'm ready. I'm just not quite ready (if you know what I mean). Right now I'm enjoying the Ego, so I figure 'no surry:.

I know a little about PCCs both from personal experience and what i've read from Mr Morandir and KevN. It would seem to be a last resort, as they take forever to charge, and never show a complete charge (either not charging fully, or overcharging). You may also consider one of those power pack batteries (solar or not) with USB plugs, than you can both run PTs on as well as a USB charger.

Katz, do you know very much about PCC's? Just curious.

Not a lot, LS9. I did get one with my original V4L starter kit, but really never saw the point. Like Blue said, they seem to take forever to charge, and I always seem to have more than enough batteries to take with me...
I do know what you mean about being "not quite ready" for tanks. There was a time I was definitely never going to do certain vaping things, which is why I developed that expression: " never say never - just say not yet"

Besides, if we went or the absolute top of the range everything, the ultimate vaping experience, we'd get bored. Gotta have something else to try or new or different. Did I mention I have a low boredom threshold? :D

I'm still sticking with my stick batts and Wow cartos. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

I have my 2 year old hardly used PCC, and upon reading your post decided to charge it with the AC to USB charger in case of emergency. I'm still not ready for tanks, even if the budget allowed it. The desire isn't there for me...yet? Then again, I held out on getting a KD battery until the Manuals came out.

Oh, I was right; DH was scathing about the tanks - for a while he did not comment, but when he did, whoa! He hates them.

Hmmm. Mine has stopped the comments on my stick batts (I think), but if he ever starts up again, I'll get a tank and he'll wish it was a Wow carto instead!

Katz knows i was not ready for tanks either ,try one ,i love mine :) Morandir and the forum will help you and i watched snows video and pm'd someone and i was fine with it .I wont stop using cartos when out tho .

You're almost making me want one. Maybe just one for when the DH will definitely not be around. A secret tank. Maybe a Titan also. I feel like I'm Katzing out! Help!

:lol::lol: Is that a new verb? To Katz out? Hm, not sure if I should I be offended. Do you mean like splurging, going over the top or being daring?:lol::lol:
It's more the act of saying you don't want/don't need an item while you subconsciously think of reasons you do want or need the item, and eventually you get the item. Saying 'never' when it really means 'not now' is also 'Katzing'.
